While the overall property is shared,. Guests stay in the original home on the property and the owners in the second home. The original home has a large living room that has been decorated to provide a restorative environment with comfy furniture, a large TV with cable, a dinner table that has seating for 6. There are two bedrooms, each with a new comfortable queen-size bed that we furnish with luxury linens. There is a third xl twin bed in the large living . A toddler bed can be set up in either bedroom as well as a pack and play for infants. There is a well appointed kitchen, with pots, pans, plates, to commonly used cooking items such as cooking oil, spices, and breakfast items. There is a washer and dryer for use.. An immaculate clean home. We maintain a high standard regarding providing a clean home with a spotless bathroom that is supplied with toiletries. The private patio area has a gas grill for BBQ; and there is also a casual outdoor dining area. Fantastic space to view the night sky infused with stars. No light pollution, so if there isn't any cloud cover this area is wonderful for viewing stars. There is plenty of room for children to play. We encourage guests to engage in chalk art on the concrete floors in the patio area. A relaxing activity for both young and old. We provide lots of toys, games. and crafts for children, an indoor tent with panda sleeping bags; and we even have an electric car (10 and younger) for children to tootle around the property. The highlight for most of our guests would be our very friendly chickens that roam around in the shared meditation garden. Our chickens are social, they know their names, and they love to be fed and cuddled. All our guests, young and older, tend to enjoy their contact with the chickens; and they feeling infused with joy and amazed at how personable the chickens can be. We often hear from guests how they loved the ability to hug a chicken and to hear them trill (like a cat's purr). However, if you fear chickens, or are not quite an animal person, then you can also ignore the chickens and still be able to enjoy the garden and home without any contact with the chickens. There is a large driveway so we allow our guests up to three cars to park in our driveway while staying at the home. Exceptional Wifi quality (not easily found in the valley ) is via speedy cable. If you are a young family with an infant, we have a pack and play with linens, a stroller, baby bath, high chair, play items. For young children we encourage children to engage in crafts, board games, and chalk art on the driveway or patio area. If you are a group of girlfriends or couples, we provide adult board games , encourage you to enjoy wine and meals in the garden and engage in chalk art in the patio area. We have lots of suggestions for places to visit, wineries to consider, places to eat, areas to hike, bike, and swim. There is also plenty of space for storing any large items during your stay such as bikes. Cyclists may use the garage to store bikes, stands, and other equipment and to use the garage as a work space. If you are coming into the area for bike riding, we can suggest many local trails. If you are coming into the area for wine tasting, we can make suggestions for boutique wine venues. If you are coming for a friend or family member's wedding, then we are very likely located near the wedding venue. We have been told by nearly all our guests how central we are to everything in the Santa Ynez valley. In order to provide safety for our chickens we do not allow our guests to bring their pets. The "cottage" wing of the home is allergy free, and no animals are allowed inside; we do not even allow our own little terrier inside. Guests will have access to a meditation garden, freshly laid organic eggs, and seasonal fruit (generally late May into early December. There is a gas grill in the private patio that is yours to use whenever you'd like. There is a washer and dryer. There is a hammock in the garden for guests to use at their own risk. Children can have access to meditation garden; however, young children need to be supervised as we do have plants that if consumed might be harmful. The front garden is available for holding a lunch or dinner. The tree canopy keeps the garden area cooler by 10 degrees even in direct sunlight. We are happy to offer advice on where to go in the area and are happy to interact. If guests prefer, we are perfectly fine with offering 100% privacy. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and laid back. It sits on the edge from the center of the three local towns of Solvang, Santa Ynez and Los Olivos. The neighborhood has a comfortable suburban feeling of being on the outskirts of town, yet is only a few minutes drive from markets and the best wineries in the valley . The neighborhood is situated between one to four miles from the downtown center areas of Santa Ynez, Solvang and Los Olivos. The town of Buellton on the 101 is six miles away. One of the major conveniences is easy access to all three towns and wineries. Not having any noise and light pollution so being able to see stars at night. Having fast cable internet and cable television. For anyone wondering about the exact location and the distances between our home and Santa Ynez, Solvang, and Los Olivos, here are the distances and traveling times by car that Mapquest offers for direct routing: Santa Ynez, 2 minutes, 1.3 miles; Solvang, 7 minutes, 3.4 miles; Los Olivos, 7 minutes, 4.8 miles. There are a number of scenic routes that one may take to enjoy even more views of wineries, ranches, and the countryside. We are happy to share these routes and to print out maps. Refugio Road and Route 246 are nearby, and access to the 154 and 101 is easy. The Chumash Casino is just over a mile down the road. Major wineries are within a 3-mile radius of the home. The cottage has plenty of parking. Uber and Lyft drivers service the area. The home is situated on an acre property with two separate and private homes. While the overall property is shared, such as the meditation garden and driveway, our guests will have their own home with it's own private space. The guests stay in the original home and the owners in the second home. There are no shared walls between the two homes due to a double space car breezeway, however there is a shared roof line between the two homes.
