Lovely, Thatched, Luxury Suite - British Host

Our lovely old house is near Pilar and close to the Panamerican Highway - cerca 60 kms drive from BsAs. We have in-house stables and are very close to Polo Fields and the excellent Pilar Golf course. Polo/stick & ball/chukkas may be arranged (seasonal) with advanced notice. We can arrange a 2hr hack out for novices (accompanied) $350 pesos p.p Transport - We have a bus stop outside the main gate and the train is within 400 metres walking (San Martin Line (Retiro to Cabred) BsAs (1hr 50mins). The space The property is on a small village chacra in the centre of Manzanares in Pilar. with stables and swimming pool. The guest suite comprises a lovely space of 105m2, with a vaulted ceiling of thatch and wood. space is furnished with a mix of old and new. The bedroom is on a galleried space over a large sitting area with open fireplace. The full en suite bathroom comprises of his and hers sinks, bidet, Loo, shower and large jacuzzi bath. A kettle is provided for tea and coffee 24/7. A tea box is available for guests in the suite. (fresh milk provided as needed) The house is old, so patience is needed at times. Hot water is abundant and on tap, but the shower and sink faucets will need to run a couple of minutes for the hot to arrive. Also bear in mind we are in the country with stables and horses, will get daily dust (which we clean) and HARMLESS spiders and webs at times . You may see the odd cockroach, this is South America and the perfect climate for such critters. We can provide tea, sympathy and a gentle peptalk for Entomophobics. Storms here can cause power-outs, but this can at times add to the fun, romance and adventure (candles, torches and wine provided on such occasions). The suite is perfect for couples, however, couples travelling with supervised children are welcome. WARNING - the swimming pool has no safety fencing so children must be closely supervised at all times. We have two large sofas in the studio which may be made up as beds for older children. We prefer not to use the beds for adults. We also have a travel cot and linen for babies and toddlers and a highchair. Babysitting may be arranged for couples who wish to ride or go out for dinner in the village. We have doctor on call in case of emergencies and one of the best hospitals in South America a 15 minute drive away. A call out fee will apply for the doctor. Guest access The check in and check out times listed are flexible - Check out must be by 13:00hrs if we have new guests arriving the same day as your checkout, if not, you may relax and check out till 19:00hrs. The pool (weather permitting), garden and galleries may be used freely and are shared with the family and their other guests. Although the gallery immediately outside the suite, which includes a table, chairs and a big sofa/day bed is for your exclusive use. While unfettered access to the kitchen is not permitted, cold beverages and food items may be stored in the family refrigerator by request and exceptions may be made for light meal preparation. (by arrangement) Access to the stable area is by request only . Heath Extras - A visiting masseuse or manicurist can be arranged at extra cost. (usually 24hr notice). We have a steam sterilizer available in the house for the sterilisation of babies teats and bottles if needed and of course a kettle in the suite for boiling our mineral water from the well. (boiling recommended for babies and children) Due to high season temperatures and dust/pollen/allergens, we also keep a well maintained nebuliser machine (plus salbutamol drops and saline solution) in the house, in case of emergencies for diagnosed asthmatics. We are a 17 min drive from The University Hospital Austral, which has a high tech emergency service run by extremely qualified medical professionals. http://www.hospitalaustral.edu.ar/ During your stay The hostess will be available to help you throughout your stay, as you will be staying in the guest suite of the family home. The hosts are British and we can communicate in various languages - English - Spanish - Portuguese - Italian. Other things to note If you have a car we are close to the Panamerican highway and Ruta 8. We are within 40 mins driving to the cathedral town of Lujan, with its amazing/controversial zoo - (you can actually touch the lions and tigers here) 40 mins to The Gaucho town of San Antonio de Areco and about 50mins (traffic dependent) to Central BsAs.
