Welcome to Longacre Cottage and Coach House with panoramic views of Lake Ontario. Two rustic heritage cottages with all mod cons and direct access to a private pebbly beach below. Near Milford and minutes from Long Point National Wildlife Area - Black River, Sandbanks, Picton and nearby wineries, farm stands and restaurants a short drive away. STALicence #ST2019-0141 The space You'll have the full two acres and hundreds of feet of waterfront to yourself! Lovingly restored, the rustic 1840s farmhouse cottage (capacity 4 plus 2 children under 10) features distinct hand-hewn beams with a serene and comfortable modern decor. The pre-Confederation era homes date from the time of Charles Dickens, the Bronte Sisters and Alexandre Dumas, a long time before Home Depot came to be. While we have high house housekeeping standards this is not a boutique hotel experience and is priced accordingly. On the main floor you'll find an open-concept living and dining area, with wood stove for cool evenings: good books, lots of spots for napping and reading and a well stocked kitchen overlooking the lake for preparing delicious meals with the bounty of the county. A TV, DVD player, stereo system with CD player is also available. Off the main floor living area, the sunroom has a king-sized bed (folds into a daybed when not in use) and sliding barn door for privacy. The upstairs bedroom takes up the entire second floor and has a queen and two twin beds. The cottage deck, with lake views, has a dining area and lounge chairs. Both gas and charcoal BBQs are available. An outdoor shower on the deck is perfect for unwinding after a day cycling or at the beach. The Coach House (capacity 2 plus 1 child under 10) has a ground floor bedroom with two queen-sized beds. On the second floor there's a full bathroom, kitchen and living room (with TV and DVD player) and a deck with spectacular lake views and a gas BBQ. New this year: dedicated wifi for the building. There are lounge chairs and muskoka chairs in various locations to take advantage of the stunning views. And a fire pit for bonfires (must be called in) and 'smores. A path by the cottage deck with handrail leads to the pebbly beach below. Seating area at the foot of the path features another beautiful view. Beside the coach house on the other end of the property, a staircase offers another beach access. Remember to bring your water shoes to fully enjoy the lake as the pebbly bottom can be a little tough on the feet. We have a stash of various sizes if you forget. We also have life-jackets you are welcome to use. Use of a Sandbanks pass is included which saves you the entrance fee plus - if you make a reservation - allows you to bypass the entrance lineup. Note that this is the countryside and we do our best to keep pests at bay but sometimes nature finds its way inside!
