Enjoy the natural luxury of 40 hectares of pristine tropical rainforest, crisscrossed by crystal-clear rivers, magical waterfalls, and a paradisiacal beach exclusively for our guests. Our facilities are built with local wood on a 20-meter hill overlooking the sea, offering a privileged view of the Pacific Ocean. We have a guesthouse with three rooms and a separate cabin, both surrounded by lush vegetation. The space 3 rooms located in a comfortable cabin built with wood from the region, with two dining rooms, two bathrooms, deck overlooking the sea, garden and hammocks. Also Atelopus private cabin with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the garden and the sea. The facilities are powered by hydroelectric power and perfectly drinkable water from the streams. The private beach and the rivers provide tranquility and the ideal setting to enjoy inspiring landscapes. Guest access Gastronomy The food service has an additional cost per day, per person. Local cuisine of incomparable flavor. Includes 3 daily meals (vegetarian options) and coffee and snack station. Activities and experiences El Amargal as a Nature Reserve has attractions, hiking and exclusive experiences. We are a strategic site for whale watching, surfing and diving. From July to October you can see the whales from your room and our dining rooms! We also offer 9 Fauna and Flora trails, 7 waterfalls, visit to the hot springs, descent of the Arusicito River in a traditional canoe, Giant Trees trail, Prehistoric Plants trail, artisanal fishing excursions to Cabo Corrientes, visit to communities, sighting of poisonous dart frogs, AND MUCH MORE!!!! GET IN TOUCH WITH US Other things to note Visiting El Amargal is being part of our mission of conserving biodiversity and natural resources in the Gulf of Tribugá. At the Reserve we offer beer, snacks and signature cocktails with viche, which is a distillate of sugar cane, ancestral from the Colombian Pacific coast. Some recommendations on what to bring for your stay with us are (per person): a flashlight, waterproof bag for cell phone or camera, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent (although there are almost no mosquitoes), long-sleeved shirt and pants for walks in the jungle and waterproof jacket. For walks in the jungle, we can lend you swamp boots (we have sizes 35, 37, 39, 40, 41 and 44) or you can bring trekking shoes. Finally, since El Amargal is a Nature Reserve and the municipality does not provide waste collection service, we ask that the solid waste you bring to El Amargal, such as food packaging, batteries, water bottles, product containers of personal hygiene, other plastics, etc., return them with you to the city, for their best disposal.
