Description
This snug, hand-built cottage features large windows and a deck looking toward Hague Lake and the rocky scapes of Turtle Island. It’s tucked away in a small grove of towering Cedar and Fir trees, but in the heart of uptown Mansons Landing with stores and a bakery cafe just steps away. It is ten min. walk to swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking at kid-friendly Sandy Beach, or a 15 min. walk down to an ocean beach and Mansons Lagoon. Friday Market and Cortes Museum are a short stroll away. The space Awaken to the call of loons in this warm and inviting, multi-windowed post and beam cottage with cedar and fir finishes throughout. It has an open concept with the bedroom sitting back in its own nook, but otherwise open to the living area. The queen bed boasts a deluxe Obason organic latex mattress. And if you need a bit of Netflix and chill there's a 32 inch HD TV at the foot of the bed. The sitting area has an Ikea corner sofa bed - chaise, sofa and double bed all in one. It converts quickly and easily into a spacious bed. The deck has outdoor seating, dining and barbecue. There is an additional outdoor shower looking to the lake. Other things to note We are committed to lightening our ecological footprint. Our great walking / biking score helps us to do that. If doable, we encourage guests to consider using public transport to get here. Island Link is a great option, on Vancouver Island, and locally the Klahoose Bus runs twice weekly to get you to and from Campbell River. To help mitigate the effects of climate change and our dryer, hotter summers, we ask our guests to be keenly aware of water and electricity usage in the cabin. At least five months of the year all our laundry is line dried, including all linens for the casita. During the warm weather, If you must wash clothes while here, please use the drying rack provided at the casita to dry your clothes as much as possible.
