Description

The Curaco de Vélez Cabins are part of the Escuela Superior Campesina, a self-managed education project. In this sense, with the lease of these, you will be contributing with the education that we want to build for the young people of the Chiloé Archipelago. We have 4 Cabins, each with a capacity for 4 people, electricity, hot water, Wi-Fi, heating and food if requested in advance. The space At our School we develop a training process through a Diploma in Rural Development and Local Planning, aimed at young people and adults who participate in their territorial organizations and who share the values of respect for cultural and social diversity. It aims to train technical professionals capable of managing integral and sustainable development alternatives at the local level, with a critical view that contributes to the change of their social reality. Two fundamental elements of this experience are autonomy and self-management, we understand autonomy, as a form of organization of existing, local resources, and self-management as a social practice, both form an inherent part of this pedagogical proposal in its entirety. In this way, we understand that a transformative education requires an autonomous and self-managed construction that gives prominence to students, teachers and collaborators in decision-making, in the co-construction of knowledge, teaching and learning processes and in the revitalization of shared and collective knowledge. Under this context, the School does not receive contributions from the State, teachers participate free of charge, although the degree awarded at the end of the training process is not recognized by the State, what is sought is to prove that there was a process in which the student learned to manage development projects in his organization and community, and that he has received training that allows him to look at social processes, understand them and insert himself into them with awareness of their role. One of the elements through which the self-management of the School is carried out is the Cabin Service. Guest access You will have access to the Cabins, you can visit our School where we have a permanent exhibition room, in addition to parking and green area.
