Deep into Trinidad's northern range on our little agricultural set up is the Jungle Loft. Exactly on the trailhead for the three main oilbird caves in Aripo - and the island's largest cave system, there are easy walks along the road into the rainforest. Due to the length and varying conditions of the road we’re best suited to guests looking to explore the area or looking for a retreat or if you just really love the place! We've turned what used to be the old cocoa house - used up until only a few years ago - into a loft for guest stays. It's right next to the main house which we don't always occupy. So sometimes you'll have the place to yourself but most days we're a working estate so there will be workers tending to the produce. It will be a longterm work in progress improving the environs and updating the space but we think we have something unique on offer to serious jungle seekers. You can use all of the outside space. We have set up quite a few hummingbird feeders, which attract quite a lot of birds. The back has chickens and anywhere you're comfortable around the place do make yourself at home. I can be around if arranged in advance There are some neighbours but generally it's just miles of secondary forest. Old cocoa plantations that have long been retuned to nature. There are lots of animals around so do expect a lot of visitors around, not something we can or intend to control. We hope that sort of experience would be a big part of your reason for coming to stay at the Jungle Loft Absolutely no transport around. We are something like the third to last house on the road. Very much in the middle of the forest. Having your own vehicle is a must and preferably a 4WD as the roads are very rough at parts. People do come up with regular cars but for a guest stay it’s preferable to be prepared for finding rough bits of the drive depending on the weather/eventualities. A 4x4 or a van would be ideal for Aripo road. We are not near to a restaurant or grocery or anything of the sort. The village has shops where you'll get some basics, bread and snacks but please come prepared for a self sufficient getaway :) It is advised that to print the check in instructions/location in the case guests find themselves without digital mobile data
