Description

An option for those who would like to experience self sufficiency by living with a Chilean family in an organic farm in Cañete (Bio Bio region). Direct buses from Santiago and close to the aboriginal community. We are an artistic family that welcome all alternative concepts. We are comfortable speaking English and also a good chance to practice your Spanish. Our place is ideal for people who like to get their hands dirty. The space I live with my parents and my older brother in a small organic and biodynamic farm in Cañete (Bio bio region). Around 90% the food we eat comes from our garden. I lived in Australia for 3 years, where I had the chance to study wellness and develop my artistic side. Also I had the chance to visit others countries in Europe and North America, lived 2 months in the UK. Now, I have return and I would like to open the doors for others to experience an alternative chilean family. A peaceful place, the greatest of the farm are the Queltehues birds, which are totally free in the garden and sing in the morning just outside your bed. There are some great path close by good for running. The house is 90% wood that welcome barefoot walking, we use wood fire for cooking, We have electricity but we use candles. You will sleep in your own private room in a 120 x 190 cm bed, which can be good for 2 people, for more than 2 people, we can put a double mattress on the floor. We have one acoustic guitar. The house was designed with a good sun exposure, so you will be wake up in the morning with the sun in your window and with the harmonic singing of some Queltehues birds. We have our own natural water supply which is safe to drink, We had had many European visitors already. There are some direct buses from Santiago or Concepcion, I will pick you up from the bus terminal in Cañete. INCLUDED The price included: breakfast, lunch, dinner, bed linen, towels, transportation from Cañete to the farm, local transportation cost in Cañete using regular transportation just as another chilean person, tour guide in English or Spanish. You could choose to do some of the next activities depending on your interest, season and time available: COOKING LESSONS: Whole wheat hand made bread in a oven and hot sand (Tortillas), Chilean typical food of Empanadas, Pebre, Carbonada soup, Porotos con Rienda, Ensalada de Cochayuyo, prepare your own herbal tea “Mate”. Typical Chilean drinks of Mote con Huesillos, Agua con Harina, organic wine, Ponche, chilean organic tequila (aguardiente), to start the cooking fire. GARDENING LESSONS: how to seed, watering the vegetables, prepare the soil, harvest vegetables, organic gardening, prepare compost, feed the chicken, collect eyes. ARTISTIC LESSONS: Salsa dancing lesson or Cueca national Chilean dance or beginners acoustic guitar or beginners Yoga lesson, Spanish lesson, or fitness lesson. GUIDE VISITS: to the aboriginal Mapuche museum or Nahuelbuta Park or Lanalhue lake, Mapuche family. GAMES: Chilean typical game of Rayuela, Cayuya, Envoque, dama, math creative games, It can be discussed: a biking tour, 1 night camping. IMPORTANT: All cell phones should be turn off during night, all electronic devices should be unplug during night and it is not allow to smoke inside the house.
