Enjoy a view of the farm from your own umbrella-covered deck, perched above a sedge meadow, and a bedroom under the stars, quiet and peaceful. This little camper is a remodeled 1962 Canned Ham travel trailer. In a shady spot next to a restored sedge prairie, our Cozy Camper is parked a ways behind our farmhouse, but you'll be able to share in the life of the homestead - cats, dogs, ducks, sheep, hogs, steers, goats, and wild critters. Enjoy the view from your own private deck, swing in your hammock, climb a tree, use the lawn games, borrow books/magazines, walk into town, picnic at the tables scattered around the farm, tour the many historic villages in the region. Bring bikes, fishing gear, ATVs, or kayaks - or rent them all when you get here. No toilet or water in the camper- you'll use the house bathroom and we'll provide a farm basket breakfast with coffee and tea. The Cozy Camper is yours alone, and you have a private deck with vintage chairs and a shade umbrella. You can eat your farm basket breakfast at the tiny kitchenette, or find a picnic table on the farm with a view of the animals or prairie. Use the romantic cedar outdoor shower, or the tub and double shower in the house. Borrow the vintage Schwinns to pedal into town. Reserve the Barn Dry Sauna for an hour at night. Communal lawn games and evening campfire with s'mores. We're a working farm and we offer a farm tour when you arrive. Pick up your farm basket breakfast and coffee/tea in the morning, then it's off to chart your own adventure on the farm, neighborhood, or nearby villages and state parks. We'll provide you with maps, guidebooks, directions and advice to make the most of your time in beautiful Driftless SW Wisconsin. We're close to New Glarus Brewery, Mount Horeb tourist shops, Monroe cheese outlets, Darlington ATV rental, dirt track stock car racing, home talent baseball, and Mineral Point artist galleries. All this and great hiking and biking trails are within a half hour drive. Antiques, craft shops, and great cheese factories are all around us. We are 40 minutes from House on the Rock and Taliesin, 45 minutes from Madison, an hour from Dubuque, 15 minutes from Yellowstone Lake and a half hour from Governor Dodge State Park and within walking distance of the Pecatonica River and a top-rated trout stream. Five minutes walk to the library, antique shop, and several great bars that often have local live music. Within a 15-minute drive, there is excellent fishing, hiking, tubing, kayaking, boating, bird watching and a gun range. Rent bikes, canoes, tubes, kayaks, ATVs. Bring comfy shoes for hiking, bikes for road or trail rides and a cooler to buy local cheese and meat! No air conditioning in the Cozy Camper, but the nights are cool here. There is an electric heater and electric fans. We'll have local brews and water in your fridge, and provide a farm basket breakfast with coffee/tea, but you'll have to enjoy lunch and dinner in the towns nearby. You'll have lots of great choices!
