Owner will not be present during stay, but on-site property manager is available. The resort is directly on the beach. The beach and all common areas (3 pools with hot tubs, tennis courts, workout facilities, putting green, poolside restrooms, grills and cabanas) are accessible by manicured sidewalks within the property (about 150 yards to the beach is my guess). Las Mananitas is mostly second/vacation homes so it is never overly crowded. We have boogie boards, folding beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, and sand toys in the utility room for your use. There are a handful of very good restaurants within walking distance (some casual; some very nice), and the La Comer (like a Super Target in the U.S.) is a very short walk for food, beer/liquor, toiletries, and other supplies. A Walmart just went in a little further into San Jose so that is available also, but is not within easy walking distance. Downtown San Jose del Cabo has an abundance of great restaurants and shopping and is about a $1/person cab ride (about a 5 minute ride). The restaurants in San Jose are incredible and very diverse. I have a list of my recommended restaurants in San Jose (some within easy walking distance) with plenty of selections that both kids and adults will really enjoy. Most U.S. car rental agencies have rental cars available at the airport. You can reserve cars online (pick-up at the airport) or use the Las Mananitas front office to assist you. There is an Alamo rental car company about 100-150 yards to the right as you exit the front gates at Las Mananitas, and I believe that Alamo will deliver to the property. I would go with a reputable company that has the best price. Jeeps and mopeds can also be rented on a daily basis. A rental car may not be necessary if you don't want to explore the surrounding area. Cabs are easy to find. Jeeps and mopeds can also be rented on a daily basis near the condo. A cab ride into San Jose (closest town with the best shopping and restaurants) is the greater of $1/person or around $6/trip, and a cab into Cabo San Lucas (more touristy but better nightlife and the main marina) is the greater of $8/person or around $50/trip (always negotiate first). Many of our renters ride the local buses and say that is it very easy and convenient, but I haven't ridden them yet. If you do want to get a rental car, driving is very easy in Cabo.
