Description

The house is unique on Bonete beach in Ilhabela. It is located on the beach, with its foot in the sand, a direct view of the sea and the charm of a traditional caiçara house. Facing the beach's surf spot, it is the ideal dream house, with incredible terrain. The kitchen is equipped with complete appliances. The bathroom water has automatic gas heating. The barbecue is traditional to the place, made of stones on the floor. Parking is free for your boat, cars do not have access to Bonete. The space The uniqueness of this house is defined by two standards: location and history. Imagine a beautiful island on the coast of a tropical country. Now imagine the most isolated and wild beach on this island. Sounds good? Now imagine a rustic-style white house with wooden windows. On the beach, literally. From the balcony, you can see the ocean in front of you, all day long. The sand is white, the sun sets right in front of the main window. All right, now wake up. And take a look at the photos to find out that this dream can come true. A renovated traditional fisherman's house takes you to colonial Brazil upon arrival. The typical caiçara architecture has been preserved in our house, where you will feel the beach culture of Brazil in a natural paradise. The house is the best location on Bonete Beach, on the island of Ilhabela, on the north coast of São Paulo. The island (Ilhabela literally means Beautiful Island in Portuguese) is the largest coastal island in Brazil - just 15 minutes by ferry from São Sebastião. True to its name, the 350-square-kilometer Ilhabela is replete with volcanic peaks, beautiful beaches, dense rainforest and about 360 waterfalls, many of which are under the protection of the Unesco biosphere (about 85% of the island is protected). With a constant breeze (which makes the surrounding waters the dream of sailors and windsurfers), the island is a magnet for all types of nature enthusiasts, ranging from hikers and deep-sea divers to lazy Robinson Crusoe types who sway in hammocks. The charming village of Bonete, a four-hour hike or a 40-minute boat ride to a surf beach on the south side of the island that you will share mainly with a local fishing community. If you choose to walk, you'll have to walk fairly to get to the beach - but don't think of it as a punishment. The path can be considered the best part, as you pass waterfalls and walk in the shade of the Atlantic Forest, the declining virgin coastal forest in Brazil. Half an hour before the end of the 12 km hike, you'll see Bonete Beach: this is what Brazil must have looked like to the Portuguese when they first arrived more than 500 years ago: just blue sea, golden sand and dense green forest. Finally, the beach: a half-mile strip of sand next to a river estuary, with good waves for surfing. When you're there, it's totally relaxed (as long as you're armed with mosquito repellent - 85% of the volcanic island is covered by a virgin Atlantic rainforest and, as a result, extremely annoying blood suckers called "borrachudos" usually come out in full force). The beach is also a tremendous surf spot. On the right side of the beach, called Canto Bravo, beautiful waves hit the beach. Guest access We only offer home accommodations and access to the grounds. Other things to note Coming and going from Bonete always depends on the weather and the sea. If you decide to hike the trail, always do it in daylight and avoid the trail on rainy days. The house is 100% autonomous from electricity and the voltage is 220V
