Luge Lodge
Our home is a rustic cabin style house on Lake Michigan. A large sand dune separates the house from a private beautiful beach. We have no stairs on either side of the hill so tennis shoes and back packs are suggested for climbing the dune. We do have 200’ of rope on both sides to aid in the climb and will be improving the trail in time. Luge lodge has a down stairs area ready for guests. It’s very quiet and cozy. However there is a room with a king bed. The Queen bed is next to the bathroom in a walk thru area from the living room to the king bed area. Guest have parking near the front door, which is a private entrance. There's a turn around and plenty of room for a few cars. The downstairs is completely private. Our entrance to the house passes by the back patio. We live upstairs so we’re available for guests. Guests are welcome to call text or email us for any questions. Our home is located on Lake Michigan with a large sand dune between us and the lake. The view from the top is spectacular and the beach is very private. We have a 200’ rope on both sides of the dune to aid in the climb, no stairs. Back pack and Tennis shoes are recommend as the sand gets hot. Luge Lodge is approximately 1/4 mile from Muskegon Winter Complex which has an actual luge run. There are other seasonal activities available there as well. The park has a small ice skating rink and groomed, lit cross country skiing trails in the winter. The luge run is also open during the summer as an Alpine type slide. The Muskegon State Park is on the lake side the road and can be used as a lake access. Our home is only one mile away from the Block house, an historic land mark. We're just two miles from the Muskegon channel where you can walk the edge and watch boats come and go from Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan. In the State Park you'll find an expansive beach and Bath House with facilities. We're 5 miles from beautiful Duck Lake State Park to the North. Michigan’s Adventure, an amusement park with rollercoasters and a water park is about 8 miles from us. There is a very good grocery store nearby as well as some nice restaurants. I suggest your own car. Scenic Drive is a popular bike route however there is no bike lane. The patio area, just off the back door is fenced in to keep a pet contained. We also have a fire pit out away from the house that our guests are welcome to use. There's no shortage of loose wood you are welcome to burn.
