This is one of the 3 new bungalows in the beautiful Selva Vida Lodge & Retreat Center, located in Santa Maria village along the Amazon river, a one-hour boat ride from Iquitos. The lodge is set on a hill conveniently located just off the boat drop-off in Santa Maria. It is newly renovated and electricity is powered by solar. It is set 14 hectares of lush Amazon jungle land where you can relax, rejuvenate and be at one with nature. The room is one of the 3 new bungalows with one double bed, sometimes also a single bed, and an attached bathroom. The room overlooks the garden of the property. While the lodge is nicely renovated, it is still in the jungle. Therefore, there are jungle creatures such as mosquito and other bugs, as well as you may occasionally encounter cockroaches, frogs, and rats. We do our best to keep these out by fumigating the place from time to time, and provide mosquito coils. However, we also try to respect the environment and not fumigate too often and therefore cannot guarantee that you won't come in contact with some of these creatures during your stay here. Guests are welcome to use all the common space in the main house including the kitchen, dining room, living room, balcony, and the maloka for yoga and meditation. As the owner, I am on the property a few times a year hosting my own life transformation retreats. The rest of the time I have my manager Willy, a guide, and other staff to take of all your needs. You will be able to communicate with me through Airbnb. I will respond promptly to all your questions and needs. Santa Maria is a small and quaint village outside Iquitos, about 1-hour ride on a slow commuter boat or 15 minutes on a speed boat. The Amazon River is just a one-minute walk down the hill from the property where the boat docks and where there are convenience stores and food options. You can get to Selva Vida Lodge via a commuter boat from Nanay port in Iquitos to Santa Maria. It is about a 1-hour ride on a slow boat and 15-minute ride on a speed boat. You can see the house up the hill where the boat docks and it's a 2-minute walk once you get off the boat. Electricity in the house is powered by solar so if you could be mindful and turn off lights when not using that would be greatly appreciated so the power doesn’t run out. There is hot shower however you will need to wait for up to 5 minutes for the hot water to come out. Thank you so much for your patience.
