Guests experience a well-provisioned 1300 square foot home, with modern technology and conveniences, originally a country one-room school, called North Round Prairie, from 1875 to 1945. In addition to a comfortable, well-appointed, and technologically current home, guests have the opportunity to enjoy walking paths through natural landscaping, wildflowers, outdoor sitting/dining areas, historical displays, the music of songbirds, a pasture showcasing a seasonal working cattle farm, magnificent sunsets, and more. Guests looking for a peaceful country setting, naturalists, bird watchers, flower enthusiasts, and history buffs, will be pleased with this property. Upon your arrival, step into a collection that speaks of rich history. View the Hall of History, upstairs partial original 1875 school house setting, and a variety of artifacts from the school. Peek into the original outhouse, check out the school’s water pump and view a piece of pressed tin from the school’s ceiling. Have fun with the squeaks in the original, restored wood floors that are over a century and a half old! Enjoy creatively repurposed antiques and tasteful decorations that complement this cozy, up-to-date home. And now you will have access to a brand new feature, the newly designed and built upper-level 3rd bedroom suite. Guests will stay on secure premises. We feature a digital external lock with your own confidential access code plus bedroom and bathroom doors that lock from inside each room. Please note that the country road can occasionally have traffic. Your reservation accepts this condition.
