Short drive on the highway from Athens, OH (15 minutes) and Parkersburg, WV(35 minutes). Detached studio apartment located on 25 acres with access to almost 300 acres for walking and fishing(catch and release). Studio apartment has a full kitchen and bathroom, two bed nooks, a chair, and table with four barstools. The space is heated using radiant floor during cool weather and during warm weather cooled by a window unit AC. Owners live about 30ft from rental on the property. Very close to windy 8 and has a car port for guests -biker friendly! You can walk around owners 25 acres, sit/paint/eat outside. Guests may also hike, and use fire pit one is located by the Airbnb and there is another at the pond across the street. Across the street owners own Poston Lake and guests may hike there, we ask that you let us know you will or might use the space so we can let other family members know and welcome your presence. If guests have any questions we ask that they send a text or use the Airbnb messenger. We are open to whatever communication guests want. Locally you can shop at Poston’s Carry Out located in Stewart Ohio of off 329/144. If you would like to hike on our property please do let us know so we can send you in the right direction(s). Getting around and parking in Uptown Athens can be competitive based Ohio University being in session or not. There is a parking garage located at 7 E Washington St. that you will almost always be able to find for fee parking. The Hocking Hills is about a one hour drive and is 50 miles away from our home. The Hocking Hills area is an absolute gem of natural beauty, however the area often has spotty cell signal. If you can save your directions in case you lose service. Please no pets. Extra bedding and blankets in the closet are for guests to use if you’d like. Drawers in kitchen are labeled and contain everything you need to cook and clean. Extra towels and some extra sheets are located in the drawers of the queen sized bed. We provide Keurig coffee pods for the Keurig coffee maker. We do not provide food. We provide salt/pepper and sugar. We do not provide WiFi. Most people have good cell service at our location. *Please only flush toilet paper down the toilet and throw everything else in the trash. Wipes, tampons and other items flushed will clog the toilet. For guests staying a couple days- - let us know if you need the trash taken out, we are happy to do this! -if you need additional towels or towels swapped out we can do this too. - If you need local information, or have any questions please do ask.
