Open floor plan, 20 year-old family home located outside of Pentwater in a wooded setting. Nice for large families/groups, with sleeping for 10. Less than 5 minute drive (2 miles) from downtown Pentwater and Charles Mear's State park. Approx. a 20 minute drive to Silver Lake sand dunes. Large parking area and 20x40 lean-to storage for toys (quads, etc), & additional RV parking. Pentwater river kayak/canoe access 400 yards down the road. Backyard fire pit, grill, & 2 kayaks on-site. The space This is a comfortable, durable home that will make a good base of operations for your West Michigan vacation. The location makes it more rustic than resort-ish, being located in the woods and near the river will almost guarantee you come in contact with insects, and the occasional turkey or deer. Being located just 5 minutes from the US-31 on-ramp makes it very convenient for traveling to other nearby attractions such as can be found in Silver Lake and Ludington. More than ample parking for everyone in your group, with extra room for trailers and RV's as well. We also provide a large (20x40), covered storage area for any extra toys you may bring along such as quads, dune buggies, etc. The house is stocked with bed linens, pillows, bath towels, beach towels, coffee pot, coffee, dishes, cookware, and utensils. Laundry available onsite with detergent provided. Two 10 foot kayaks available to use on the Pentwater river, more kayaks can be rented from the livery in town. A backyard firepit with chairs, benches, and roasting forks available for relaxing. Gas grill also available for outdoor cooking. There are so many fun things to do around the Pentwater area, hike, bike, kayak, visiting at the State Park (recreation pass required), swimming at the beaches, touring the area lighthouses, even just wandering through the shops downtown can be very relaxing. Every Thursday evening, during the summer, the Civic Band plays music at the Village Green and there is a summer Farmer’s Market there on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am-1pm. Also, just off of the US31/Monroe rd. exit you will find the Up North Market and Petting Zoo, which can be a nice family outing. AJ’s Adventureland just outside of town also offers lots of fun in the way of putt-putt golf and a go-cart track. If you are out for an adventure and don't mind a drive we would suggest driving down to Silver Lake, MI (25 minute drive) to Mac Woods Dune rides and Craig’s Cruisers. There is also an outdoor pistol/rifle range located about 5 miles away for any firearm enthusiast. If you get too worn out from all the outdoor fun our home has a game closet in the basement and a television set-up with a Netflix account, just in case you need a little rest from your vacation or the Michigan weather throws you a curve ball. Please note the only TV is located in the basement rec room as we feel having the living room as quiet space to visit with you loved ones is important. Guest access Guests have full access to the house, storage shed, carport, yard, and the lean-to on the side of the shop. We ask you do not enter the interior of the back shop.
