The gigantic winter village is a favorite of both young kids and adults of all ages. Every room in house has a themed tree. Past guests are family to us now & we plan to continue sharing our hearts and home with anyone who stays with us. Many guests have enjoyed our screened-in porch for relaxation or work. From the porch, you can enjoy the view of mature trees and a pond where you may watch geese (& their geeslings during the spring), a blue heron, turtles & fish. Should you desire to sit in the living room to enjoy the 10-foot Christmas tree or the ambiance of the fireplace in colder months, or you need to make meals in our kitchen and eat at the dining room table, our place is your place. the laundry room is also on the 1st floor (comp laundry cleaning products). Back in your room, your kitchenette will be stocked with complimentary continental cold breakfast items, beverages (including a bottle of sparkling cider & wine (for guests 21 & older) & snacks which is a must for those late-night munchies. When you arrive, please park on the left side of the driveway closest to our front door. There are three steps that you need to walk up to enter our front porch entryway. You will be greeted by barks from our 2 friendly & low-allergy small shih tsu/lhasa apso dogs. Once they meet you, you'll become their best friends. We appreciate no shoes in the house unless you need them for health reasons. There's a supply of comfy slippers at our front door. Please, no smoking OR vaping in or outside of home, and please, no wild parties. Family fun welcomed! Only approved guests at registration unless discussed with host. No pets or children under two (if you wish to discuss, please contact us). We love kids but our home is not child-proofed. Quiet hours: 10pm-6am. Check-in & check-out times are listed as 2pm & 11am. During the summer months, you can use our community pool & tennis courts. We are a Christian, middle-aged couple, and live on main level of our spacious home. We are home some daytimes and most evenings. We are super excited to host your visit and share our home & any conversational time with you. Introverts and business workers are welcomed & we respect your privacy. We love this area! Our beautiful neighborhood is peaceful to drive or walk through, with a paved trail and small park across main road. We love being able to hop on the 77 and 485 to arrive anywhere in Charlotte within 15-30 minutes! The Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is close and convenient, apprx 20 minute from our home. This does mean that airplane noise may occur depending on the flight pattern. We have a box fan, air purifier and/or ear plugs available for light sleepers. Carowinds is just 2 miles/5 minutes down the road. There's a wide variety of dining options nearby in Fort Mill, Ballantyne, Rock Hill and Charlotte. The US National WhiteWater Center, NASCAR Hall of Fame and Billy Graham Library, just to name a few attractions, are within a 30 minute drive. You need a car to get around in Fort Mill - there is no public transportation near us. Uber & Lyft are readily available as alternatives. We welcome everyone passing through the area and needing either an overnight stay, or a longer stay while on a business trip, or looking to relocate to this area (we've helped several families with their transition to the Charlotte area), or those wanting a fun destination for a vacation. There is a lot to see and do in this area (after you book, if you provide your email, we can send you a calendar of events for this area). Carowinds Amusement Park is just a 5-minute drive from our home & most other area attractions are 15-25 minute drive! After staying as guests in several Airbnb’s, we've become familiar with what's important. You can expect a clean (& sterilized for covid) accommodation with friendly heart-felt service.
