Welcome to The Gathering Place! We love to host our extended family at our place on the Spokane River, which flows out of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Our shared one-acre waterfront property has a large grass yard and shallow swimming area. You may dock your boat for an extra $35/day fee. We are far away from crowds, yet just minutes from gas, grocery stores, restaurants and businesses. We are located one mile from a fantastic hiking park and less than 10 miles to Coeur d'Alene. This property was designed as a place for our extended family to gather. There are extra dishes, beach towels, and life jackets in a variety of sizes. There is an outdoor shower and drinking fountain, so kids don't have to go back and forth inside the house all day. The backyard is huge--big enough for a game of badminton or volleyball. We even hosted our son's wedding reception there. We have 6 round tables and 50 chairs available for rent as well. You will have two parking spaces, but let us know if you think you need more and we'll make a plan. You can use as much of the front yard and back yard as you'd like, as well as having access to the dock and fire pit. We keep our jet skis mounted on the dock during the summer, but there is room to dock your boat, and there are three boat launches within minutes of the property. 1. Greensferry Boat Launch -- .5 miles from property Daily launch fee of $5 per facility per day (for Vessels Registered in Idaho) Annual pass is $25 per year Second vehicle sticker is $10 Daily launch fee of $10 per facility per day (For Vessels Registered Outside of Idaho) Annual pass is $50 per year Second vehicle sticker is $10 Fee envelopes and drop boxes are available at each facility for purchase of launch fees. 2. Q'melin Park and Boat Launch - 1.6 miles from property All Day Parking: Cars/$3, Boats/$6, Buses/$10; After 3PM Parking: Cars/$2.50, Boats/$5. Parking ticket booth opens at 9am on weekdays, 8am on weekends and closes at 8pm all nights. No overnight boat moorage. 3. Red Lion Templin's Resort and Marina -- 2.2 miles from property The Templin's Marina offers pontoon boat, paddle board, and kayak rentals. The Templin's Marina also has the only boat fuel available on the Spokane River. There are two homes on this property. We live in the main larger one and rent out the smaller guest home. The property has sort of a "campground" feeling to it, and we will occasionally bump into each other, so it may not be a good choice for extreme introverts! While you're here we want you to feel like you're "at home," and not just guests during your stay. Our house is located off a frontage road on the south side of the Spokane river, between I-90 exit 5 and exit 7. It is easily accessible, quiet and has a large circular driveway for ease of parking. Just one mile west is Q'emlin Park (pronounced "ka-mee-lin"). It is a 78-acre park that features a guarded swimming beach, boat launch, BBQ pits, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, concession stand, restrooms and access to the Post Falls Community Forest and Q'emilin Climing Walls. These are natural stone walls set amidst several miles of marked outdoor trails to explore. It is one of our favorite places in the entire region. More info can be found on postfallsidaho.org. Accessing the property is quite simple. From the West, take I-90 to exit 5. Turn south, crossing the river at the bridge to Riverview Drive. Same directions coming from the East: I-90 to exit 5. There are two different routes to Coeur d'Alene from the house--returning to I-90 Eastbound at exit 5 or a beautiful scenic route south of the Spokane River that will take you very close to downtown Coeur d'Alene from the West side. Unfortunately we do not allow pets at this time.
