Hi everybody! This beautiful cabin has been fully recycled and is ready to enjoy, located in the heart of Zona Veraniega in El Cuyo, just a block from the beach. Ideal for kitesurfers, couples, families and everyone who enjoys the stillness of the place, the nature, the songs of birds in the morning, the wind, and the sound of the sea. Our "cabaña" is placed in the heart of the Veraniega area of El Cuyo. A small town whose main charm is its relaxed ambiance. If you are looking to enjoy the typical way of living in a small authentic mexican village, this is the place for you! Away from crowds, nightlife and tourists. This gateaway will bring you a sense of peacefull insight, either if you take a long walk by the beach which expands for kilometers with almost nobody around, or if you like to watch the beautiful sunsets, stare the stars at night, collect seashells, or if you like to hear the birds singing in the morning or simply take a nap in the hammocks under the palm trees. If you get really lucky sometimes you can see dolphins in their natural habitat, or flamingoes in the "ria". It is important also to note that in certain days of the year, (festival seasons like Christmas, New Year's eve, Easter) El Cuyo becomes festive and receives many local families that come to celebrate. At these times of the year it may be noisy and crowded. Placed in an ideal location in the Yucatan Peninsula, you can just unwind in the cabin or if you like to get to know the places around, the Riviera Maya offers a great variety of plans such as visiting Chichen Itza ruins (2 hs distance), Cancun (2hs dist) , Tulum (2 hs dist), Playa del Carmen (2hs dist), Merida, Valladolid, or the beautiful "cenotes" or sinkholes which if you have never been before are a magical place you can´t miss considered sacred for the ancient Mayan civilization. The cabin has a room with 2 double beds, 1 bathroom with hot water, and the living room with a sofabed and integrated kitchenette with fridge. You will also have access to the terrace in which we enjoy taking the 2 beach chairs (that we will leave you in the room) to stare the stars at night. Or you can also enjoy the private palm tree garden with white sand, be ware of the coconuts if they fall off!!... and in that case enjoy a fresh coconut water. We are originally from Argentina and we have been living and working in hospitality activities in Playa del Carmen since 2000. We know what visitors are looking for and we will be happy to assist you and guide you if you like. We speak fluid spanish, english and french and you can reach us anytime either with the wifi or by phone in case you need help or tips : ) At your arrival we will be there either us or our housekeeper Reyes. Check in is at 16:00hs and check out at 13:00hs. Keys are handed to you, in case of loss 50dls will be charged. Towels, linens, electricity, hot water and free wifi are provided. If you need cleaning service within your stay it can be arranged with him for $250 mexican pesos or $300 icluding linens and towels. The cabin is placed at "La zona Veraniega", a quiet area of houses that are generally used for vacations for the local families of Tizimin, Merida or Cancun. This area is 500 mts away from the main square where the church, and local stores can be found. If you appreciate this things sometimes you can see some events in the main square when once a year is the "El Cuyo" festival, with horse exhibitions from the local barns around, or a feria or circus that comes eventually to the village, or the "el viejo" tradition in new years´ eve when they prepare a rag doll human sized being an old man that will be burned representing the old year that is left behind and which carries messages they hide inside with the wishes for the next year. El Cuyo is a village whose main activity is based on fishing, so as the sun sets you can see some village men bringing their fish to the local trader. So you can buy the catch of the day if you like to enjoy a fresh fish! Local people offer boat rides, kitesurfing classes, sighting birds tours, kayak tours in the mangrooves, and whaleshark tours from may to september. Simply ask us and we will help you to arrange it. A vehicle is not necessary being within walking distance to the main street (7 blocks) but it might be convenient if you want to carry groceries around or visit other places in the Yucatan pensinsula. Airport transport can be arranged if you need it. You can find all the basic food here, but there is no supermarket only small markets or "abarrotes". There are 2 or 3 places where you can find daily fresh fish, pork, chicken and meat. But if you like "deli" stuff,a nice wine or special fruits (there is not much variety here) you can think on buying it before arrival.
