Private Apartment, Corolla Village, Dog Friendly

Located in Corolla Village, Currituck Lighthouse, Whalehead Mansion, Currituck Beach, Currituck Sound, Bike Paths, coffee shop, beer garden, salon, surfing, bodyboarding, biking & Stand-Up Paddle , barbecue shack, pizzeria, horse tours. You’ll love my place because of privacy, 2 block walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean & the Currituck Sound. 3rd floor apartment is in the Carolina pines. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (w/ up to 2 kids), dogs. (no cats). Non-smoking. The space This is a small private 2 bedroom apartment perfect for a couple and/or family w two children. If you check the photos in the listing, you should get a feel for the apartment. The 1st bedroom has a double bed. The 2nd bedroom has a set of bunk beds, futon, and cable TV. So we are fine with dogs so long as you clean up after them. The kitchen is well supplied with pots, pans utensils, coffee, cream, sugar, dishes, etc..but there is no stove or dishwasher. There is, however, a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, standard size fridge, hot plate, and all cooking utensils. There is a dining room table in the kitchen. A private stairway will take you up to the 3rd floor. There is no living room. If you let us know ahead of time, we can hook you with bikes. If you have an infant/toddler, please note, the apartment is on the 3rd floor and the only access is a staircase. I recommend bringing a 'baby gate' for safety. We have not "baby proofed" the apartment. We are more than glad to do a load of laundry for you. Just give us a heads up and we will give you a laundry basket to fill up. Guest access You will be staying in a separate building but we are only 15 yards away. The main house and The Apartment are connected with a deck walkway. The Apartment is on the 3rd floor. You are above the Studio Airbnb Unit which is on the 2nd floor. You will have your own free parking space. On the 1st level is an outdoor shower to wash the sand off. Remember, you are three flights up, in the trees w/a view of the lighthouse. Most of Corolla is filled with vacation homes. But we live on a private street with permanent residents. My only two neighbors (close friends) have chickens that wander around on our street. To say that this is a unique setting is an understatement. 2 blocks away is Island Book Store. If you don't like big box corporate hotels and want to experience how the Corolla locals live, this is it! We surf, ride bikes to do chores, go stand-up paddleboarding, play music, love good places to eat and live the laid back beach lifestyle. Our guests come from all walks of life. We are glad to show you around but will also respect your privacy. Our Fall guests are down here in Corolla to attend a wedding. I'm glad to give your rides back & forth to the ceremony. During the winter, if you can't book a horse tour, I'll take you to The North Beach to see the horses. Just let m know in advance. If you stay with us, you get to use a free beach parking pass for the North Beaches. We also have an air compressor and a hose to wash your 4x4. Other things to note We will supply sheets, pillows, towels, bikes, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, beach chairs and an umbrella The apartment will be clean. But we cannot offer daily cleaning services. But if you do need extra towels, sheets, lines and/or pillows, let us know. We offer cable TV w/HBO and WiFi. I have a Wifi booster that supplies the apartment w/a steady signal. You will be responsible for keeping the apartment clean. We have trash and recycling cans. When you leave just put all your laundry in one place, make sure all food & trash is removed, dishes are clean. If your pet has an accident, just let us know. If its on the rugs, we will need to rent a carpet cleaner ($50) charge. ( hey, accidents happen). If your dog gets sand from the beach, you can use your outdoor shower, which is located 1 floor below. There are two grocery stores in Corolla. The Food Lion is the closest: 3 miles south in the same shopping center as Corolla Surf Shop. There is also a Harris Teeter about 6 miles south of the Treehouse. Just 2 blocks North is Winks, a small convince store, a great place to pick up milk or beer. Corolla is an upscale beach resort. The rental model that the resort was designed around is large beach cottages that rent by the week only for up too $15,000. The Treehouse is an alternative for vacationers who want to stay in Corolla, want flexible booking dates, have access to the beach & sound but don't need to pay for a huge cottage. My wife & I have been living in Corolla since 1997 and feel very lucky to have the quality of life that a small town provides. We would love to share this experience w/ you, your family, friends but especially your pet dog(s).
