Historic Esther's House W/ Mountain Views
Esther’s house offers guests a chance to immerse themselves in the history of Lead while enjoying your favorite modern-day amenities. This unique 3 bed 2 bath once served gold miner families & has now been renovated in a cozy, mountain home feel W/ a nod to it's history. Enjoy the firepit from the 2nd story deck overlooking the mountains and town or make memories whipping up family dinners in the enormous kitchen. 10min to Terry Peak, 3minutes to Deadwood, 40min to Rapid City, 20min to Spearfish The space Experience this beautiful 1890 renovated 3 bedroom 2 bath home on a serene Lead mountain top. Arrive to your own covered parking spot with additional parking across the street for cars, trucks, or trailers. A set of stairs will lead you to the main deck with firepit and outdoor seating. Main Floor: *The front door enters to a huge dining room and kitchen with double oven, large island, spacious counters, dozens of cupboards, and fireplace. *The hallway from the dining room will lead you to the first full bathroom, with large vanity and brand new shower w/ shampoo and body soaps. The laundry room is just past the bathroom with washer, dryer, and soaps. *Across the hall opens up to the living room W/ smart TV, comfortable seating, door to the deck, & old mining relics. *The first bedroom is off the living room with a queen bed. The second bedroom is on the other side of a partition wall. Both bedrooms are time period correct and do NOT have doors. They are open to the living room, although the beds are hidden from sight from anyone sitting in the living room. This was common for the era. 2nd Floor: At the end of the hallway, another carpeted staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom. This bedroom boasts a king bed, door to the back yard, and smart TV. *Basement: The 2nd bathroom is located in the basement and is NOT renovated fully. We wanted to give guests a taste of history and how the old miners lived during the Black Hills Gold Rush. Miners covered in dirt and soot would come in the basement door and shower in the basement bathroom before coming up for dinner to avoid tracking dirt through the house. The old miner's shower is still being used today. It is large and a cool experience, but please be aware that it is not remodeled. The basement can still be used to exit straight out to your parking spot, but does not have a keypad for entering. *Back yard is not fenced and does not currently have seating. *Cameras are placed at each entrance to the home for safety. Esther's apartment is on the same property, but is completely separate and does not use any of the amenities mentioned in our listing. It is accessed by another set of stairs off the deck so it sits to the left and above Esther's House. It is available to rent together with Esther's House if you have a bigger group or multi family group. Guest access Guests will have access to their entire unit, deck, single parking space at the house, and parking across the street. Other things to note **2 bedrooms do not have doors, but they do offer privacy still. **Shared property-This property has 2 separate units that may be rented at the same time. Guests from different units will not share any amenities. **2nd bathroom is located in the basement and is not fully remodeled. Please see "The Space" description for a more detailed description.
