HOUSE OF THE WELL ¡UPSTAIRS ROOM!

Lovely room with private bath and fibre-optic internet in architectural gem of a private home. The sun-drenched azotea (roof terrace) offers panoramic views of the beautiful City of Guanajuato. Kitchen privileges, laundry. Ten minutes' walk to Teatro Juarez, other central points. Easy access walking, in minibus, or in taxi. A refuge ... or a launching-point to all the enchantments of this magical city! IMPORTANT: you must walk to get here. Either up or down, but walk you must. The space If you like what you see here but the calendar is full, please check out the other spaces available in this House of the Well: there is another adorable room with private bath; as well as the studio apartment! PLEASE NOTE that to arrive here one must walk: either one walks up or one walks down, but walk one must. If you have any issues with stairs, either up or down, please seek other accommodations. The room has two single beds which together form a queen-size bed, so that it works for a couple, for two friends travelling together, or for a single individual. Of course the room has its own private bath with hair dryer and soft 100% cotton towels! Plus the things my guests are accustomed to finding like shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Guest access Most important of all, the great common area of the city of Guanajuato and its cultural offering, astounding for a city of this size (population ca. 175,000). Between book presentations, art openings, the university’s Cine-Club, poetry readings, concerts, and lectures on various topics, one could be occupied five nights out of seven, and two or three afternoons. Doesn’t leave much time to enjoy the increasing number of good restaurants here! Here in the house, you are warmly invited to come up to the roof-terrace where the sun hits first in the morning; and to enjoy the sunset with a glass of something. In reality, all the public spaces in this house are here to be enjoyed: the azotea, the central patio, the little north patio with the laundry. Really, THE ONLY OFF-LIMITS AREA IS THE PIANO ROOM WHICH IS MY OWN WORK-SPACE. And of course, if there’s a house-concert here in the Casa del Pozo, you are warmly invited! CLEANING: Weekly cleaning is included in your rent. If you’d like Sra Yolanda to come in and tidy up in between times, the cost is 100 pesos per cleaning. During your stay This is the home of a working artist. I share this space with my guests, however short or long their stay here may be. If I am here, I am as available as my work permits. And as always, if there is a concert here in this House of the Well, my guests are cordially invited! Other things to note I love this city very much – even knowing as I do that we have a lot of things to improve here, I love it very much. And I want the people who come here to visit, whether for three days or three months, to also have affection for it.
