Description
Welcome to the Hygge House! Hygge (pronounced "Hoo-gah") is all about comfort and connection. The house, its furnishings and decor are all designed to help you relax in comfort, rejuvinate and luxuriate while connecting with nature, yourself and your loved ones. Built in 1916, this adorable craftsman style home has the charm and comforts of home to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. The space Some things to note: - This is our primary residence and so you will find some of our belongings around. Please note that we have made space for guests in the dresser (drawers 3 and 4) directly to the right of the bedroom door (if facing the bedroom door), and in the closet (clothes can be moved to other racks if need be). For food, there is also room in the fridge (all condiments can be used) and the top drawer of the freezer (please do not eat food in the main part of the freezer as that is our personal food). - This house is only accessible by stairs that lead to the front and back doors. - At only 716 square feet, this house is perfect for a relaxing girls weekend, couple's retreat, single-person escape or small family. It is cozy and full of character! - With full-sized kitchen, open floor plan and fully-fenced backyard, the space is flexible for whatever it is needed for. - A dog door lets your pup come in and out as needed, so you don't have to constantly let them in or out. - With the work station in the living / dining room area, this quaint house is perfect for the individual traveling to Prineville for work. Guest access Guests have full access to the Living / Dining room, the Bathroom, the Kitchen and the Master Bedroom. The only spaces off limits are the basement (our storage space) and second bedroom (our office). Other things to note - The couch in the living room makes into a double / full bed, allowing for two adult guests to sleep comfortably. - Guests are welcome to use all kitchen appliances, thermostat, etc. - As the house is over 100 years old there are some common noises. These include floorboards that creak (the hardwoods are original and expand / contract with the extreme temps in Central Oregon) and water running through pipes (many of the pipes are cast iron). - As there is no insulation in the house, we recommend keeping the thermostat at a comfortable temp for you and then not changing it. It can sometimes take extra time to heat up or cool off if the thermostat is changed significantly throughout the day.
