Description
This home is midway between the two towns of Port Angeles and Sequim. We are nestled along the bluffs overlooking the salt water beach of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Contemporary finishes, high end appliances, and comfortable decor, surrounded by nature. The outdoor features include nature trails, gardens, orchards, fields, grassy areas, patios, BBQ gas grill, picnic table, an outside greenhouse and a sunroom for sitting surrounded by indoor plants. The space There are several wooded trails that lead to waterfront look-outs where you will want to sit and reflect on the natural surroundings, the native plants, the birds, wildlife, passing ships, the sunsets or the peace and quiet of the property itself. Our flock of laying hens reside in the barn with the peacocks, and are fun to view from the outside. Fresh eggs may be available upon request. You will enjoy our private beach trail which is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles. We are only a 10 minute bike ride to the Olympic Discovery Trail, which you can get to using our bicycles provided for guests. Other things to note The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market. There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining. The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hunters' Gate Farm Guesthouse.
