Our Airbnb is on the 1st floor of a 2 story building. The apartment features large windows, 2 bedrooms, & comfortable furniture. The apartment was recently renovated, clean, and comfortable. You will definitely feel at home here. Our place is located in Little Village. It is a short walk to the Pink Line California train that heads downtown and the 26th Street bus line is a block away. You can also take a Lyft or an Uber and get anywhere downtown in about 15 minutes at a very low cost. Save $40 off of a $75 or more stay on your first Airbnb booking by clicking on the link below. https://www.airbnb.com/c/alonsoz1?eluid=0&euid=305afaa5-08d2-9f42-ace5-c229210acaaa&ri=91812994&s=22 You will have access to the entire 1st floor apartment all to yourselves!! Check out is at or before 10am. Check in is anytime after 1pm but we might be flexible with it in certain cases (early flights into the city) or we may be able to hold your luggage as well. Just let us know when you make the reservation so we can figure it out together. :) The apartment has 2 bedrooms with a full-size bed in each, a full size couch that can be slept on, and 2 comfy airbeds if needed. The kitchen has all the amenities you need to cook your own meals or to bring in and reheat leftovers. There are also many restaurants within walking distance and affordable restaurants less than a block away that you definitely should visit. We have a beautiful living room that contains a smart tv, fast internet wifi, dvd/bluray player, board games, a comfy couch, and plenty of seating for your family. The 1 washroom is newly renovated and has everything you need to have a fresh and clean stay in Chicago. We provide soap, shampoo, conditioner, and clean towels and clean linens. There is a blow dryer, ironing board, iron and other washroom necessities on site. We have street parking in front. If you plan on driving, let us know so that we can provide you with a free parking permit pass so that you can freely park on the street. The apartment is not sound proof. You can sometimes hear the noise from passing cars if you have the windows open. It's not loud but noise exists. We just want you to know about it in case you require absolute silence during the day. The property IS ADA accessible. We have an elevator at the front gate and the 1st floor apartment is accessible by wheelchair. Just let us know what your needs are ahead of time so we can get you access to the elevator key or leave it on for you. The property is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and evacuation maps in case of an emergency. The apartment has been recently updated with central heating and air conditioning for the conviene of our guests, so you can get a good night sleep without feeling too cold or too hot. If even then you want more air we also provide portable fans (found in the closets). However, because utilities are not cheap we do ask windows are kept close while the central heating and/or air conditioning are on or you will incur an additional $25 fee per night during your stay. We are more than welcome to turn the central system off upon your request, which can be done virtually. *** (Security information) Exterior security cameras are present for safety at the front and back doors and exteriors of the building. Additional guests not part of the reservation will incur additional guest fees of $15 per person or immediate cancellation of the reservation. If your reservation is for 2 guests, there should not be 3 or more guests in the apartment. If you bring children, make sure they are included in your reservation. If you would like to bring a guest over, let us know first. Anyone entering the apartment will be considered to be a paying guest even if they only spend a few hours in the apartment or do not stay overnight. Things happen, we get it, but sneaking in guests isn't acceptable. Tampering with any of the security cameras is a strict violation of the Airbnb contract and will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation with no refund and loss of your security deposit.*** Guests will have access to the entire 1st floor apartment space, the front patio, and the backyard space. We love talking to our guests and can even show you around town depending on our availability! We were raised in Chicago and can suggest many fun things to do that you won't find in the travel books. Our work schedules keep us busy but if we are free, you are welcome to message us and ask us for information. We stay in the 2nd floor so we will be nearby but definitely will respect your privacy. Little Village is an amazing neighborhood filled with incredible people who come predominantly from Mexico and other Latin American countries. A 2 minute walk south from the building gets you to 26th street where you can find numerous Mexican shops and restaurants. A 15 minute walk will north will get you to the Lagunitas brewery, a 10 minute walk north gets you to Douglas Park where Riot Fest, Beer Circus, and other summer concerns/events are now held, and 12 minute walk north gets you to the California station of the Pink Line train that heads downtown. Please search the location online before booking and be considerate when leaving a review after enjoying a stay here. When leaving a rating, please base it on the job that the host did related to your stay. Seeing graffiti in the alley in a major urban city is unfortunate, but is out of our control and shouldn't have an impact on host ratings. We have never felt threatened in the neighborhood and consider it to be safe but it is still Chicago and issues happen everywhere including downtown or trendy areas like Logan Square. If you are looking for a "perfect" neighborhood, this Airbnb might not be the right fit for you. But if you are looking for an authentic Chicago experience in an ethnic neighborhood full of culture and energy, than this Airbnb will be perfect for you. Please reach out to us with any questions and we will be happy to answer! See you here soon… Parking: There is plenty of parking on our block but it requires a residential visitor sticker as it is a private residential parking area. Just let us know that you need a permit parking sticker in advance so we can get you enough for your stay (for free). Walking: This is a very walkable neighborhood. Banks, restaurants, grocery stores, and train and bus lines are all within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. You should also experience a walk down 26th street, the heart of Chicago’s Mexican community. 26th Street comes 2nd in Chicago behind Michigan Avenue in retail dollars spent. If you need something you can pretty much find it on 26th Street. Train: The elevated (L) train Pink Line (California and Kedzie stops) are less than a 10 minute walk north of us and that train takes you to the center of downtown (loop) in about 20 minutes and makes for an easy connection to Midway and O’hare airports. Bus: CTA bus #21 Cermak runs from 4am until a bit past midnight. This bus line is about 4 blocks away on Cermak and takes you to downtown, Chinatown, and to McCormick Place Convention Center. The #60 bus is a 24hr bus that runs through the length of the neighborhood's main street 1 block north of the apartment (26th st), then through the heart of Pilsen and gets you to Union Station and downtown Millennium Park. This bus is a 2 minute walk from the house. The #52 Kedzie/California bus takes you the north side neighborhoods of the city (Humboldt Park, Logan Square, Albany Park) and is also a convenient way of getting to the Orange line train (Midway Airport). It's located 1/2 a street away from the apartment. Bike: Chicago is a very bike-friendly city and you can safely store your bike in our backyard if you bring it (or if you have a chain you can chain it under the front stairs). There is also a Divvy bike station a few blocks away on California. Fly: The nearest airport is Midway (15 min. cab, Uber, or car drive). Ohare International Airport is about a 30min-1 hour drive away (depends on traffic). Both airports are accessible by train and buses that can get you to our building in about 40 minutes to 1hour. Taxi/Lyft/Uber: They are everywhere! Need a free or discounted Lyft ride? Use Lyft code “60623” when downloading the Lyft app. If you need a babysitter, my mother lives upstairs and can babysit children for $20 an hour. She is very experienced at babysitting and currently is raising a 9 year old. We would just need advance notice from our guests. There is a cat upstairs so if your child is allergic to cats, it wouldn’t work out. Chicago is a major urban city and you should always take precautions when walking around the city. If you are walking at night, pay attention to your surroundings and be safe. If heading downtown at night or coming home late, take a Lyft and pay just a few dollars to quickly and safely get to and from the train station in a matter of minutes. These tips apply in every Chicago neighborhood, even downtown on Michigan Avenue. ------------------------ We follow all of the new Chicago laws, such as letting you know that.. This short term residential rental IS wheelchair or ADA accessible. We clean and sanitize the apartment and all dishes, utensils, pots, pans and other cooking utensils between guests, and dispose of all food, beverages and alcohol left by the previous guests. (As required by the Chicago ordinance) We also do not withhold, deny, curtail, limit or discriminate concerning the full use of such public accommodation by any individual because of the individual’s race, color, sex, gender identity, age, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, military discharge status or source of income. In other words, all are welcome :) We shall immediately notify and cooperate with the police department if we know or suspect that any criminal activity, egregious condition, or public nuisance is taking place in the apartment. No funny business allowed! We have successfully completed the Safe Food Handling Course - ANSI Accredited! The certificate is displayed in the apartment. We are required to keep guest registration documents in Chicago. It's just a simple page that will have your name, contact info, and dates of accommodation. In the sheet will be a box for your signature, please sign it. Then just leave it on the living room table and we will collect it when you check out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cancellation policy: Strict: 50% refund up until 1 week prior to arrival, except fees. Cleaning fees are always refunded if the guest did not check in. The Airbnb service fee is non-refundable. Applicable taxes will be retained and remitted. A reservation is officially canceled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
