Wake up to a chorus of birds and the sound of the waves on the lake. **FALL/WINTER/SPRING INFO** Victoria Beach is a haven for WINTER SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS. Miles & miles of groomed snowmobile trails are accessible directly off the cabin's driveway, no trailering required! You can’t beat the sledding and ice fishing access on Lake Winnipeg with nearest 1 km from the cabin. Groomed X-Country ski trails are only ½ km down the road with parking at the trail head. The outdoor skating rink and toboggan hill are there as well. Local weekend curling bonspiels (ask us & plan ahead), fishing derbies and the annual New Year’s Eve festival with tobogganing, outdoor campfires, music & fireworks. Come home to the warmth of a rustic cedar cabin with all of the modern conveniences of home, fully stocked kitchen and cozy wood burning fireplace. Plenty of parking in the yard accommodates sled & ice fishing trailers with exterior electrical for plugging in block heaters. If you are bringing a BOAT OR WATERCRAFT, Greenglade is THE PLACE to be with loads of parking space for trailers, 5 - 10 min access to several boat launches and gas. Our cabin is NOT in the Vehicle Restricted Area (VRA) which means you drive right up to the cabin door -- no need to park in a centralized lot and NO LONG HIKES to check in with luggage, kids & gear! If you are thinking the VRA is THE place to be consider these FUN FACTs: Our cabin is as close to the VB Village Green as over half of the cottages in the VRA. It has privacy (you won't hear your neighbor rifling in their cutlery drawer!), is close to fabulous beaches (some are park & walk!) AND you have the freedom to easily drive to nearby ice cream, restaurants, grocery stores and gift shops that aren't as accessible from within the VRA. In addition, we in turn facilitate your access to the wonderful amenities within the VRA such as the Village Green, bakery and Moonlight Inn restaurant by treating our guests to a COMPLEMENTARY PARKING PASS for the Victoria Beach parking lot (July/Aug) so you can enjoy those too! Partiers and bringing guests in excess of that disclosed in the booking will NOT BE TOLERATED. Guests in excess of the person maximum MUST BE APPROVED BY HOST PRIOR TO BOOKING.****** Guest access Guests have use of entire house except the locked portion of the basement used for owner storage. Out buildings are not to be used nor entered. Guests are reminded that use of ATVs are not permitted in the Victoria Beach municipality in the summer months. Snowmobiles welcome in winter. Other things to note PROPANE BBQ: Please note the BBQ is only available May 1st - Oct 31st. FIREPIT: Please note the firepit is only available May 1st - Oct 31st. FIRE PERMITS: Local government fire permit must be applied for by the guest and approved by the RM of Victoria Beach fire marshal in order to use the fire pit. Fires are permitted in the provided firepit area only, by permit holders as long as there is no local fire ban. Message host if you would like to apply for a fire permit, and we will facilitate the application process. CLEANING: The home is thoroughly cleaned and all linens laundered after each stay. The cleaning fee subsidizes but does not cover the full cost of this deep clean service. This fee does not absolve guests of cleaning up and leaving the cabin tidy at check out. You are expected to clean/put away dishes, wipe counters, sweep the kitchen floor and put on a load of towels to wash before you leave. We don't think this is too much to ask, since we are giving a significant discount on cleaning and linen laundering costs. TAP WATER: Tap water is from a deep drilled well and is potable year round. WATER USAGE: The host monitors septic holding tank levels diligently. Occasionally if guests consume water unexpectedly fast the holding tank fills up much faster than anticipated. If this happens it will be necessary for guests to conserve on water consumption until the tank can be pumped out. Our septic service provider gives us priority service but in the summer months there can be a delay of a day or two which can't be helped.
