⚜︎⚜︎ The Best Hostel in ☼ Rio! ☞ Awesome Location
Description
An endless string of white sand beaches, lush green tropical rainforests and iconic wonders of the world, plus a cultural heartbeat pulsing at its centre … Rio de Janeiro! Sun, sand and sexy samba await you in Rio! At Tupiniquim we can make it happen … To stay at Tupiniquim is to get the best of 2 worlds: the intimacy that only a small and personal place can offer you and the professional service that only a top hostel can provide. The space Travelling solo or rocking up in a crew, we've got the perfect dorm or private room for you. Comfy beds, top facilities and a legendary rooftop bar onsite every night! We guarantee you an authentic Brazilian experience so come and join our tribe and experience the real Brazil, the real Rio, the one for the purists! Tupiniquim is a hostel run by Brazilians, it's not just a place to sleep, it's an experience that will make your stay legendary. You’ll start friendships that’ll outlast your trip. You’ll talk about Rio for ages after you get back home. We can make it happen … So why would you stay in a slightly cheaper but crappy place when you can stay in one of the best hostels in Rio de Janeiro for a fair price? :) Of course we have all the basics you can expect from a hostel: kitchen, lounge area, TV room, flawless internet, etc … What we excel into is our customer service: you see, most hostels go into one of 2 extremes: either they are way too friendly (thus forgetting to be efficient) or either they are way too efficient (thus becoming a boring hotel). That is not the point of a hostel: you do not travel not to have a decent service or to meet new people right ? There are many kinds of backpackers: starting from the one who’s on a tight budget and have to save every penny in order to be able to travel for months in a row and going all the way up to couples who are a bit tired of sleeping in dorms and want a well deserved break in a comfortable (but not luxurious or expensive) en suite private room. We get it, we really do. That is why Tupiniquim was designed to give you as many choices as possible. Our job is to make sure you get the best room for your needs. The best bang for your buck. And trust me: we are very good at our job, of course: we have been doing that for the last 13 years :p Want the f#*@ing cheapest possible bed? no problem, the 8-people mixed dorm is waiting for you. Too messy on the 8-people? 6-people dorms are the middle ground: just a few more reals and the Valhalla of the Dorms opens itself for you ;) You are traveling with your girlfriend/parents/kids/crew and want total privacy? That's why we have 6 very comfy ensuite private rooms with TV that can accommodate 4 people. Guest access You can use pretty much everything that is in Tupiniquim, after all: that is one of the main reasons of staying at a hostel right ?? Pool table ? √ TV room with Netflix and more than 1300 selected films ? √ Place to wash and dry your clothes ? √ Rooftop terrace and bar ? √ Caipirinhas ? √ Remember: to keep the prices down we do not burden you with services that you might not need. Instead we give you the lowest possible price which has the majority of free services and if you want (and only if you choose so) you can pay for extended services, check it out: All our rooms (except for two 6-people shared bathroom dorms) have their own bathroom inside the room (hence en suite) and include the following facilities free of charge: • Air Conditioning from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m: yes, we know, it sucks when someone just turns off the A/C but hey, there are fans and you did not come to Rio to sleep all day long right ?? • Wi-Fi all over the hostel, also within the rooms (650 Mbps speed) We have to say that you are not going to find a Wi-Fi like ours in any other hostel in #riodejaneiro, period. I mean, we have 8 routers spread all over our #hostel. Any reasonably modern computer, tablet or smartphone will connect at up to 650 Mbps … in english: we can sustain 50 simultaneous Netflix connections if we wished to. In practical terms: wicked fast internet in a rock solid connection. • Linen ( Pillow with pillowcase, 2 bedsheets and a blanket) Hey, you do not need to sleep in that dirty sleeping bag that you are traveling with for the last 6 months … actually, we do not allow that. Do you know why ? bed bugs … we don’t have them, and to keep us from having them we need to be really strict upon our guests. • Security lockers (they require a padlock) I mean: 1 meter x 1 meter x 0,45 cm … s%*t ! you could have 2 massive backpacks and it would not fill each locker … hell, I could sleep in there easily. Padlock use is mandatory, don’t blame us afterwards if you miss something. Besides that we have many other services, most of them for free: • Reception is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. • Free Pool Table & Bar service, open 24/7: water, soda, beer, caipirinha, etc … • Open terrace with a view of Christ the Redeemer open from 7 a.m. ‘till 10 p.m. • Open kitchen for our guests to prepare their own food (except for the fridge) • TV room with a super 54” screen, full cable TV (HBO, Telecine, Cinemax, etc …), Netflix and a selection of more than 1200 selected films, all of this for free … • We have a place for you to wash your clothes by hand and dry them • Rent (R$ 1 per day) a 30 mm padlock to use in our lockers Most of these services you can check right here if you look at our pictures. Other things to note Important Info: a valid Covid Vaccination Certificate is required if you want to stay here. DON'T BOOK IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT. And please: after you have made your reservation we need you to confirm it and send the Covid certificate directly to us. Reservations without confirmation are subject to cancellation if we do not hear from you on the same day. Got it, you already became our fan and want to book now without even looking into other places (we totally support that attitude by the way haha) but hey, take it easy ! Are we really tolerant? yes. Are we very flexible? well yes of course. Is a customer always right here at Tupiniquim? no. Do we stand for rudeness coming from our guests? hell no! The thing is that here, being pretty laid back and relaxed, there is always someone that thinks that can do whatever he/she likes, we call them “vampires”. A vampire is someone that can only read things that matter to him. A vampire thinks that rules apply to everyone else but him. But mainly a vampire is a person who sucks all your energy by being overly critical of everything: if there is an ant on the wall he will bitch about it. that can yell at you, and of course: there is sometimes someone who says that he is a “journalist” or whatever and threatens to write a bad review if you do not do his/her will (whatever he/she thinks we should do) We totally want you to stay here, but only if your cool enough, if you “fit”, you know what I mean? We don't want any trouble or troublemakers. Our hostel only exists (and has existed for the last 13 years) because we keep a certain balance, a harmony that is based upon respect between everyone who’s here: from the girl that cleans the rooms to the guys that have just returned from Lapa. Employees and guests we all deserve respect, don’t you agree ? Sometimes it’s the simple stuff, people forget, they don’t do it because they are evil, like hanging a wet towel in the room. Dude, wet towel in a closed room stinks !! That is why there is a proper space with lines where you can dry your clothes. See ? We just say the word and the small problem goes away. But there are people who just don’t care, they are too lazy to care, and then we have to act accordingly. To smoke in a closed area ?? besides being a felony under Brazilian law it just make everything within the rooms reeks and stinks of cigarette. Weed ? do I really need to talk about that ? And then there are the guys who start to complain because “I didn’t know about this or that”. Guys, the rules are written in here, at our website, at the front desk, at our bar … and really ??? it’s common sense isn’t it? people that in the middle of the night get into a full dorm and turn on the lights in the room deserve to drink warm beer for the rest of their lives. People that take a shower at 2 am and start singing should be banished from this city :)
