Trapper Creek Chalet ~ Nestled in the Woods
This secluded 1,280 sq. ft. (119 sq. m) home is nestled within 3 acres (1.2 ha) of spruce and birch forest. Its proximity to Denali State Park, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, the historic Petersville Mining District, and backcountry hiking and ATV trails make this the ideal place to enjoy your real Alaskan adventure. A short 130 mi (209 km) drive makes the chalet an easy half-way rest stop when visiting Denali National Park from Anchorage. Unplug, unwind and enjoy Alaska! The home includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, and a private deck with propane grill (seasonal) and deck seating. Ample off-street parking is available and will accommodate an RV or snowmachine trailer. Sleeping arrangements include two queen beds, a twin bed and fold-away twin/single futon. Your host and co-host are available a short distance away for assistance if needed. Depending on the season, your host may visit the property to water outdoor plants, care for the garden and general landscaping, clear or shovel snow, and to empty trash/rubbish and recycling receptacles. Your host will coordinate this and notify you in advance of arrival. The home is in a quiet, heavily wooded residential neighborhood. You may hear a distant rooster crow from neighboring Moose Creek Farm, or -- on a clear, cool evening -- hear the water flow from nearby Moose Creek. Depending on the time of year, you may expect to see dense fern underbrush or very deep snow. Moose, black bear, fox, coyote, lynx, ermine, hare, porcupine, squirrel and many bird species have found their way through the yard.
