This secluded 1,280 sq. ft. (119 sq. m) home is nestled within 3 acres (1.2 ha) of spruce and birch forest. Its proximity to Denali State Park, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, the historic Petersville Mining District, and backcountry hiking and ATV trails make this the ideal place to enjoy your real Alaskan adventure. A short 130 mi (209 km) drive makes the chalet an easy half-way rest stop when visiting Denali National Park from Anchorage. Unplug, unwind and enjoy Alaska! The home includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, and a private deck with propane grill (seasonal) and deck seating. Ample off-street parking is available and will accommodate an RV or snowmachine trailer. Sleeping arrangements include two queen beds, a twin bed and fold-away twin/single futon. The kitchen includes all the essentials to make you feel at home. A Toyo heater provides whole home comfort. A cozy wood-burning stove, portable electric heater and ceiling/window fans are available for seasonal use. Guests enjoy access to the whole home and property, with the exception of a utility area (crawlspace under the home) and two small outbuildings. A unique 4- to 5-digit code will be given to you prior to arrival for continued access to the home during your stay. Your host and co-host are available a short distance away for assistance if needed. Depending on the season, your host may visit the property to water outdoor plants, care for the garden and general landscaping, clear or shovel snow, and to empty trash/rubbish and recycling receptacles. Your host will coordinate this and notify you in advance of arrival. The home is in a quiet, heavily wooded residential neighborhood. You may hear a distant rooster crow from neighboring Moose Creek Farm, or -- on a clear, cool evening -- hear the water flow from nearby Moose Creek. Depending on the time of year, you may expect to see dense fern underbrush or very deep snow. Moose, black bear, fox, coyote, lynx, ermine, hare, porcupine, squirrel and many bird species have found their way through the yard. Interior Alaska has a lot of space to sprawl, so plan on big distances and little, if no, public transportation. You will need a vehicle to get to and from here. The home may be reached with rental car on paved roads. Sustainability Practices: LED lighting, Energy Star certified appliances, PFAS-free cookware, limited single-use plastics (trash bags only), environmentally-responsible cleaning supplies and detergents, local products where possible, optional recycling bins and compost tumbler. Approximate driving times from the home: Talkeetna - 40 min Denali State Park - 30 min Denali National Park - 2 hrs All are scenic drives with comparatively minimal traffic and the opportunity to to view wildlife. The home is easy to find and is accessible by rental vehicle.
