The Boathouse on Scotch Cove

This little boathouse sits right on Scotch Cove in East Chester, NS. Enjoy seaside views from every angle, with lovely outdoor seating and propane BBQ. The deck leads directly to the dock allowing for easy access for swimming or watercraft provided. The place is just a short walk from hiking and biking trails, with nearby lakes and sandy beaches. The indoor projector and screen make movie nights so much better! The boathouse is fully equipped for winter with a cozy woodstove. The space I've replaced my old fish house that was succumbing to the sea and wildlife with a modern, Scandanavian-feel house with high ceilings and full ocean view and access. There are 4 paddle boards, a canoe and three kayaks for your use in the summer and a swim float in the Cove to paddle or swim to. It is a year-round retreat to decompress and enjoy the sea. There’s a sauna coming soon in the fall! Guest access The living area, bed and bathroom are all easily accessible although the doorways and hall is narrow. There is a separate deck off the bedroom to a private sitting area and outdoor shower. The loft is accessed by an alternating staircase, not appropriate for small children or those with mobility or other impairment. Other things to note We have a deep water mooring for those arriving by boat. Please contact me for information! Paddle boards, kayaks, and a canoe are left on or near the rack with life jackets available. The wooden swim float is yours to use and provides deeper water access for swimming. These are available to both you and the cottage guests. I ask that you share these as needed. There are no currents or wave action in the cove, but venturing into the bay requires having personal floatation equipment. Any poor or impaired swimmers MUST use personal floatation.
