Take time to connect with nature, listen to the coyotes, gaze at the stars and let yourself be touched by the magic and tranquility of the desert. Located only 45 min from Las Vegas on a working dude ranch. Enjoy activities offered such as horse rides, cattle drives, rodeo's and cowboy games or just enjoy some quiet time visiting all the animals. A portion of the proceeds go to The Native Wellness Institute exists to promote the well-being of Native people through programs and trainings. Enjoy an outdoor shower with hot water and spectacular views. There is a camping stove, pots, pans and dishes for some light cooking. Coffee and Tea is provided. Only a short walk to an out house with a flushing toilet. For your comfort, in the summer months we have a swamp cooler in the tipi and a misting fan on the deck and in the winter we have a heater and a heated mattress. We do allow pets but charge a $10 pet fee. per night. We ask that you do not leave your pet un attended if you travel off property. We proudly donate a portion of our pet fees to the SPCA. I am not always at the ranch but there is staff there 24 hours. There are two tipis on the ranch. This tipi "Raven's Nest" is in the back of the ranch. Follow signs for "Ravens Nest" Sandy Valley is a very small town. We have one small store, one saloon ( Idle Spurs) and one restaurant (The Cluck and Moo) All of them are about 10 minutes from the ranch. You take a right out of the ranch and then a left on Cherokee. There is also the oldest saloon in Nevada 20 min away in the historic ghost town of Good Springs. The famous Pioneer Saloon. Sandy Valley is a special and unique Rural community. A perfect place to unwind, exhale and slow down. We would like our guest to be aware that this is a tipi/tent. It is a very unique experience but when strong winds blow it is noticeable inside. The tipi is very strong a stable but it does rattle and shake in strong winds. Also, please note...In the winter the desert can get below freezing at night. The tipi does have a heated bed that keeps you very warm at night. There is also a propane heater inside but it does get cold inside the tipi. Must have a vehicle to get to the ranch. GPS stops you short of the ranch at the California state line. The ranch is 3 miles past that and on your left.
