'Orquidea' is a huge room overlooking the courtyard of a colonial house in the historical centre of town. It is an orginal wooden floored room furnished with a comfortable double bed with cosy comforters, armchair & shares a bathroom, additional toilet and fully equipped kitchen. The space The house is a traditional colonial style house set around an open flower filled courtyard. The rooms overlook the courtyard so get a lot of light. Orquidea has storage space, a big armchair, double bed and a gorgeous view outside. The rooms share a kitchen and a small newly tiled bathroom (with shower and toilet) and a separate toilet which are accessed by crossing the patio to a small separate block. This is not a hostel, it is our family home but it is a big old building so we rent out the extra rooms (you can see our other listings for details and guest reviews). Please contact us for special offers on the weekly and monthly rate (sometimes the calendar will not always calculate it correctly). Guest access Guests have the use of the fully equipped kitchen and a shared bathroom plus an extra toilet next door. Guests have their own keys to their bedroom and front door and can come and go and they please. Guests also can also use big courtyard, there are tables and chairs outside. Occasionally, part of the courtyard space is used for some one-on-one Spanish classes (overflow from our school, normally 4-5 students ), but we will warn guests if this will occur, and they do not make much noise (nor do they use the shared facilities such as kitchen, guest bathroom or outdoor eating area). During your stay We are currently away working, but you will be looked after by our brother and sister in law Leslie and Luis, who live in the house and and are contactable by phone easily). We are also here to help (online) with any travel arrangements, tips for cafes and restaurants or anything else you need. Other things to note - We have been informed the map is wrong and shows the house in a different area. It really is in zone 1, a few blocks from central park (5 mins walk) - We offer further room for guests who study in our nearby Spanish school (please contact us for details) -Shared kitchen (stove and full oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, free drinking water, tea and real coffee) - Shared tiled bathroom with electric shower (and we have a newly installed water deposit and pump onsite). You have to go across the courtyard to get to it. - Towels provided - Guests get keys to their room and the front door - WIFI 24 hours (10mbps download, also used by 2 other rooms, please let us know if you will need internet for work during your stay) - Dogs (x2 attention seeking huskies) and cat (couldn't care less about you unless you have food) hang out in the courtyard during the day. - We encourage all guests to turn off lights when not using them, and to be conservative with their use of water. We use a ceramic water filter for drinking water so we don´t use plastic bottles, and energy saving lightbulbs throughout the house. We recycle cans and paper through a local recycling initiative and encourage our guests to correctly dispose of all their recyclable rubbish in the bags provided.
