Cozy and convenient. This New England cottage is the perfect base to explore Essex and the surrounding area. Stroll to downtown and have a coffee and bagel, shop, or dine at one of the many great eateries. The perfect escape. Cozy fireplace and 3 season room make this an ideal place to share a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. Bedrooms feature luxury linens with a split-king adjustable base Tempur Pedic mattress in the master bedroom. Guests have access to the first and second floors which include the spacious kitchen, living, and dining room, and of course two bedrooms and baths. The garage is not available (sorry). Host is available via text/phone/email to address any and all needs. Texts will be returned in less than an hour. Calls and emails within 24 hours. Texts are the preferred communication medium. Essex has been called “ The best small town in America” and it’s not hard to see why. There’s great dining, a picturesque Connecticut River shoreline and one of a kind shopping all within a few minutes drive or stroll. You will find a folder with info on a few of our favorites when you arrive. A car is needed to fully experience the area and parking is rarely a problem. The one exception is if you plan on driving downtown during one of the many parades that occur in town during the summer months. The parades are not lengthy but walking would be a better choice on those days. In the interest of full disclosure, we’d like to share that the house, being an antique house that is 100 years old, has a lower ceiling upstairs than the traditional ceiling used in modern homes. The bathroom has a slant in the shower to match the roof-line and if you are an exceptionally tall person, this may be a challenge. (Wes is close to 6 feet and he is very comfortable, we are referring to anyone over 6 feet.)
