Perfect Cottage Retreat

The perfect Cottage Retreat for family and friends to enjoy together, under 2 hours from Toronto and Kingston! True cottage feel including a fire pit, bbq, canoe, running water, and 2 kayaks. Waterfront access to the Trent River, you can swim or fish right off of the dock. Brand new heat pump (2022) added, keeping the cottage warm in the winter and cool in the summer. *Note: All repeat guests who wish to return are very welcome, and as a thank you we will honour the previous $ rate. The space The cottage is setup to accommodate a great time with friends and family. It includes an eat-in kitchen/living room stocked with all essentials and wall to wall windows for natural light, with a water facing deck off the cottage and incredible views for your morning coffee or evening drink! Note there is no longer a microwave. Outside features another deck with outdoor dining and bbq, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. The waterfront is perfect for the kids and pets to play by the shore, but deep enough off the end of the dock to jump in (not diving). *Please note that there is wifi but highspeed internet is not available in this area, we cannot guarantee a strong or consistent connection. Cellular service is typically about 2 bars. If you wish to work from the cottage please note that video conferencing is not reliable but phone calls/email access should be fine. Guest access There are 4 parking spaces for large vehicles, potentially 5 spaces with small cars. The dock also provides boat access, with a public launch 10min away. Other things to note The property is a large slope towards the water, so there are a number of stairs from the road/parking area to the cottage and then further to the water. These are in a good state of repair but please take extra care - especially if there has been rain and with children. We provide bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, outdoor blankets, clean drinking water in a watercooler, paper towel, toilet paper olive oil, salt and pepper, drip coffee filters, and propane for the BBQ. Please check the list of amenities for other items provided to help make your stay more comfortable. We have provided 6 adult lifejackets of various sizes, one infant lifejacket, two small children's lifejackets, and two medium & large dog life jackets. When swimming, please avoid the area to the right of the dock - there is an old dock under the water. The water is normally clear but at times can appear murky. We are dog friendly but you must keep them tied up when they are outdoors at all times. Please pick up after your pet and please keep them off all furniture inside.
