Experience off-the-grid living! Nestled in the woods of Prince Edward Island is this private fully off-the-grid Earthship. This sustainable home features a south facing wall of windows, an earthen floor, green roof, and studio loft. Surrounded by wildlife this Earthship will keep you cool in the Summer and warm in the Fall. The space is serene, beautiful, and a perfect place for nature lovers to disconnect while still being centrally located and close to Cavendish. The space This home is an Earthship home meaning it was made from rammed earth tires plus recycled and natural materials. The walls and floor on the inside are made of adobe (or cob), one of the oldest building materials known to man. This home blends ancient feeling building techniques with modern comforts. It is truly a one of a kind building. Provided with the rental are an assortment of board games, books, sound system (and Aux Cord), and a fire pit with wood nearby. There is now a small retro TV and N64! WIFI is not provided with this rental however phone service is present for data. Some have described the experience as a Glamping Experience. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home as well as the surrounding forest, trails, a small deck that stretches over a nearby forest stream, and a green roof patio looking over the treetops. Other things to note Due to this building being off-grid there is no use of any electric heating or high power appliances; this means no hair dryers, power tools, toasters, or anything that draws a lot of power. Being off-grid we ask you to be environmentally conscious, and to be sure to turn lights and other electrical devices off while not in use. some guests have noted an earthy smell in the house, with a botanical cell inside the home and the home being partially underground these earthy smells can occur. IMPORTANT Some guests have complained about bugs. Being in the middle of the woods and having a indoor garden makes this space prone to a few insects and I cannot guarantee the space will be 100% insect free, though I do take measures to eliminate them. Also being an underground greenhouse, this home has slightly higher humidity than most buildings especially mid summer. Please be aware of that before booking.
