The Cozy Loft is a tree house-type setting. This is a one bedroom efficiency space with a loft for a comfy queen mattress. One queen mattress, 1 comfy full futon and 1 cot (if requested). Full bath, mini kit, hot plate, coffee, micro, fridge and grill. You will love it here!! While it is located in a small working class neighborhood, it has the feel of a forest, nestled in the back part of the 1/2 acre lot. The cozy loft is attached to the downstairs cottage which is booked separately. The Cozy Loft is your Get-a-Way, so make it your own. You're only minutes from Downtown Dallas, the State Fair, Deep Elum, and the museum district, such as the Dallas Museum of Art, the Kennedy Museum, the Holocaust Museum. My favorite is the Perot Museum. Whatever reason you happen to be here, we welcome everyone from everywhere; and we expect you will be just as welcoming to us. Note: the key to the cozy loft will be up the stairs of the loft, not the main house. You can park on the circle to the left as you enter the property, or park anywhere but be sure to leave space so you can exit freely. You will need to walk straight up through the main porch and turn left to get to the loft. At night we leave the main house porch lights on; it's helpful to use your camera phone to help navigate the path to the stairs. The stairs lead up to the loft and the key will be left hidden for you. Please lock up when you leave, and sometimes the door gets sticky at different seasons, so please pull hard for the door to securely lock. Take the keys with you while you stay here and if you ever get locked out for a small fee, I will tell you where I've hidden the extra set on the landscape -- Jk. You are welcome to have as many as 4 people total in the unit, preferably ones that you know. You will be pretty secluded on the property. If you want to sun bathe, that's up to you. There's parking for 10 cars on the lot, but it's like a Rubic's cube, you have to know how to manipulate parking so you can exit easily. Text me if you have any questions at all: ). There's a store nearby; Fiesta ( you can make the trip to Fiesta via two legs - must exit the property to the Right). LaAdelita :The restaurant is EXCELLENT food and reasonably priced. There are a great deal of yummy and diverse restaurants located just 5 miles north on Buckner blvd. near the Garland Rd intersection. I guarantee you will enjoy the selections: El Fenix, Torchy's Tacos, Highland Park Cafeteria, Alligator Cafe, Schlotzski's and Chili's. There's also an Albertson's in the area. If you exit the property to the right, you will be on Robert B. Cullum freeway. (enter w caution as this is a highway)You can walk a ways downward and find a bus stop. If you get off at Lawnview Dart Station, that train will take you to West End Station, and from there (Downtown Dallas), you can catch another train anywhere. I recommend Mockingbird Station for perusing stores and restaurants and movies and wine. The Kennedy Museum and memorial are located 50 ft from the West End station. (Robert B. Cullum is Scyene Road) If you travel by car, you can take Robert B. Cullum to I-30 West. You will see two I-30 signs, take the second sign to I-30 West. Right as you go LEFT under the bridge, you will be minutes from downtown. If you go straight under the bridge, you will be in Deep Ellum. (Elm street) Lots of restaurants and bars. Elm Street, Main Street and Commerce street are the area for restaurants and shops. I am available to drive you and your party during your stay for a fee. This helps travelers avoid renting a car.
