Welcome home. Relax in your luxurious bed, so close to the lake you can hear it breathe. Your cabin, is nestled on the shores of Abram lake and is located minutes from down town. Our home is the longest serving rental on Airbnb in Sioux Lookout. When relaxing on the deck or from the master bedroom, the water is so close you feel like you could reach out and touch it. Its' cozy tranquillity is perfect for a couple in need of escape. Full kitchen, laundry facilities, and dock, are available. The space This is our summer home. My father hand crafted this cozy year round log home. It has a walk out master bedroom with a queen bed and a beautiful gas fire place. There is a quaint well stocked kitchen with all amenities you would need. In the living room there is a 42" ultra HD smart TV. and recliner couch and rocking chair. BBQ on the deck, as well as lounging deck furniture. Laundry facilities are available. Guest access You will have access to the whole home. The small bedroom on the main floor is the only room off limits to guests. However with advanced notice, arrangements could be made for its use at a rate of 80$ per person per night. There is full size fridge in the basement guests can access the ice and water dispenser and use it for extra food storage. Guest have the fridge in the kitchen for your needs. Other things to note We allow guests with pets, for a daily fee of 15$/pet/night. Guests can rent a canoe with advance notice. 30$/day Wharfage for large boats is 10/day. The water comes from the river and is filtered for sediment only. There is a reverse osmosis water tap at the kitchen sink, for those that are uncomfortable drinking lake water. Our water is safe to drink and is not purified with chemicals. Here in Northern Canada we have tannin in the lakes and streams that gives it the water a slight tan colour. In downtown Sioux Lookout there is an artesian well located on first avenue at the corner of first and King street, that flows clear cold water. Bears. There are occasionally bears in the area. They are more afraid of us, and don’t want anything to do with us. My philosophy is that people don't have bear problems, bears have people problems. Garbage removal is important so as to not attract bears. I remove all smelly garbage into town. Fish waste is to be left on shorelines away from peoples property. Pease don’t throw them the water. Eagles will clean them quickly. We don’t allow smoking anywhere on the property as smokers tend to throw butts on the ground.
