Description

A vacation trip to Alaska isn't complete until you've stayed in a real Alaskan Log Cabin that is cozy, clean, and private. The space Located at the end of a quiet subdivision on a large private lot. The large diameter logs were harvested in Haines Alaska and trucked up to Valdez where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted. Take a walk up and down the hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs and banister made by Precision Timberworks here in Seward. Filled with live plants, most of them I’ve had for over 15 years. Enjoy the fire pit with your family and friends. Firewood provided. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals. Soak in the claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metals from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. The Minden’s also own and operate Reds Burgers in town. Be sure to stop by for the best burgers and shakes. Veggie and Wild Alaska Meats available. Or enjoy a stunning tile walk in shower with pebble floor. Construction was completed in the fall of 2016. After this it took almost two years to do the finish work and the fine detail work of sanding and staining the logs, adding local art and my own, handpicking the furniture to make this cabin as comfortable, cozy, warm and welcoming as possible. What makes my property unique is this is my personal home, I only rent it out during the summer months and I live in it the rest of the months. During the off season I am always upgrading the inside or improving the outside garden. This property is an extension of me and who I am. I decorated it from my experiences in life and I try very hard to create and not purchase what everyone else has in their homes. Staying here you'll enjoy a unique, clean, cozy, private, and beautiful cabin. The Lost Lake Subdivision is a quiet small subdivision. Out of the flood zone and high enough to be tsunami safe. Most of the subdivision including my lot is on bedrock so we don’t feel the earthquakes. The Cabin. ~Three large bedrooms. ~king bed upstairs. ~queen bed upstairs. ~queen bed downstairs. ~Two full bathrooms. ~walk in shower upstairs. ~claw foot tub/shower downstairs. ~Washer & Dryer, soap included. ~Amazon & Netflix account & wifi. ~Full kitchen. ~Fire pit, fire wood included. ~BBQ, propane included. Getting there. ~Anchorage to Seward drive time 2 hours. ~Seward to Homer drive time 3.5 hours. ~The cabin is 1.2 miles out side the Seward City limits. Guest access The whole Cabin is yours! Other things to note There are the occasional visits from Moose and Bears. Please be mindful and don’t leave food or trash outside.
