A vacation trip to Alaska isn't complete until you've stayed in a real Alaskan Log Cabin. The large diameter logs were harvested in Haines Alaska and trucked up to Valdez where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted. Take a walk up and down our hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs made Precision Timberworks here in Seward. Filled with live plants and stunning artwork from all over the world. Sit around the fire pit with your family and friends. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals. Soak in a claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by a famous local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metals from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. Or walk into a stunning tile walk in shower with pebble floor. Crawl into bed and under a down comforter after a long day out playing. Construction was completed in the fall of 2016. We are very easily accessible by message, text or phone call should you need assistance with the cabin during your stay. The cabin is conveniently located right out side the city limits of town so you have the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but you're only 5 minutes from the grocery store, harbor, and everything else our beautiful Seward has. The cabin is at the end of the road in the subdivision and up a private elevated driveway. Quiet time outside is 10pm Located at the other end of the subdivision is one of the highlighted hiking trails in Seward. Lost Lake Trail, to fully traverse this trail you can walk one way 16 miles but many people enjoy a shorter day hike on this trail where in the summer you will find plentiful blueberries, salmonberries and of course your occasional wildlife sighting! (don't forget the bear spray) Please be respectful of the neighbors and don't go up their driveways. Seward doesn't have a bus service outside the city limits but we do have a few Taxi companies. Once in town there is a free shuttle that runs all over town during the summer. There is only one car rental company (Hertz) so if you need a car while in Seward, Id make a advanced reservation as the cars sell out fast if there is a Cruise Ship in town.
