The Garret is a one-bedroom apartment within a Georgian-inspired house, built in 1857. This cozy, private suite is located on the top floor of the house, with a view of the Charlottetown harbour. The apartment is furnished with fine PEI and Canadian art and antiques. The Garret is situated in the heart of historic downtown Charlottetown, and is steps away from the PEI Convention Centre and the city’s vibrant restaurants, bars, and cultural attractions. The space The Garret is a beautiful one-bedroom suite where you can experience the bohemian lifestyle of downtown Charlottetown. The newly renovated top floor suite is located in the Robert Longworth House on Water Street, next to the PEI Convention Centre and the Delta Prince Edward Hotel. The Longworth House was built in 1857 after the great fire that destroyed much of the city of Charlottetown in 1855. The house is listed on the Canadian Registry of Historic Places. The suite is appointed with locally made furniture, Canadian art, and handmade antique Iranian rugs. The bedroom comfortably sleeps two, and features plush bedding and high quality linens. There is a fully-equipped galley kitchen, and a charming dining nook overlooking Water Street. Private parking is available for one car. There is a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement. The house is very close to all of the wonderful restaurants and bars in the city and only 3 blocks away from The Confederation Centre of the Arts, where you can take in live theatre and art exhibitions. The neighbourhood has great coffee shops and an excellent local bakery. It is also close to Confederation Landing Park, the Confederation Trail, Victoria Park and the boardwalk - all lovely places for a morning run or evening stroll. The back of the house features a bricked-in patio with chairs and a table, a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Guest access This unit is a private apartment in the Longworth House. It is on the top floor of the house, accessible through a shared entryway and up two sets of stairs. There is parking for one vehicle. Guests are free to use the private deck and the back patio on the ground level. Guests can also use the coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement. Other things to note This property is located on the Charlottetown waterfront next to Peakes Wharf. This is a very vibrant tourist area during the summer months with many shops, restaurants, and bars which tend to be very busy on the weekends. We supply earplugs to our guests and suggest using the fans or air conditioners if the noise on the street is bothersome.
