Enjoy an open concept space, warm fire, and the true delight of a four season country chalet. Our goal is your comfort. Sit in the library and catch up with a good book, or have coffee in the sunroom while you watch the morning dew burn off. We have enjoyed inviting our friends and family to share and enjoy our home for decades: now we extend that invitation to you! The space The home was built by our Mom & Dad in the early 1980's. Starting out originally as a barn style timber framed building, it gradually took on a more unique shape and style as rooms and expansions were added throughout the years. The result is an open concept, warm and brightly lit chalet unlike any other. The look is familiar but not dated, modern but not imposing. Above all, our space is comfortable. Featuring a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, library (music and literature) and with enough space to sleep 9 guests, this is a rental space perfect for large families or small groups of friends. Set on a hill and surrounded by dense forest, privacy is one of our most valued assets. The cozy, warm and wooden aesthetic is perfect for winter weekend getaways on the slopes at Ski Wentworth. The summertime boasts incredible weather, top notch star gazing and luscious shade gardens. Without a doubt, the views of our autumn tree line offers a multitude of colour that you won't find anywhere else. Amazing solid wood construction throughout the house and high ceilings make for excellent acoustics. It is the perfect space for a songwriting retreat, or a secluded recording session. Our home offers endless opportunity for inspiration, introspection and creativity! Guest access Guests are welcome to use the entire home and the front, back, and side yards. There are two locked barns/sheds on the property that are off limits. Other things to note *Our policy is that we require your AirBnB profile have at least two positive reviews attached to it. Accounts with little to no profile information or reviews will not be approved. We apologize for any inconvenience. Ideal for Ski Vacations in the winter! Excellent space for songwriter retreats or recording sessions. Great for vacationing families/groups who are looking for a relaxing getaway, or those who want to explore Nova Scotia at anytime of the year. Driveway: Our driveway is long, and the last section is on an incline. All manner of cars can get up and down, but it's more of a challenge for vehicles with low clearancex especially in the winter. Courtesy Note: Our Chalet is effectively a big wooden house in the woods, adjacent to several fields. While beautiful and relaxing, the reality of our rustic location sometimes means the presence of uninvited house guests, and by that we mean mice. They are not rampant or infested by any means, but we do employ mouse traps in some areas of the house to control any that may find their way into the home. They are most active in the late summer/fall, and least active in the winter. If the thought of a mouse possibly finding it's way into the house during your stay is troublesome to you, we understand 100% and invite you to perhaps consider another listing. If you take the time to read our reviews, you will see that our ratings are very strong and none of them mention mice. We consider this briefing as just being transparent with our guests.
