Either way, communicate with your host and we will help you get to your entrance as easily and swiftly as possible. Especially if you are traveling alone. 🚎 TRANSPORTATION/TRAFFIC: Our property is located on an arterial route, therefore there is a light morning rush of "Queenannians" coming and going on the hill in their cars. Be cautious crossing 10th W to get across the street. Most Seattleites stop for pedestrians, but some don't. Public transportation is easily accessible from our street. The #1 BUS picks up 1 block away and drops off 2 blocks from our address. Uber & Lyft usually are just a 1-5 minute wait for a ride and are plentiful in this city... app required. Lime bikes and electric scooters are also available around the hill. App required. 🏢 CITY NOISE: While we pride ourselves in having a hidden oasis on the hill, and it is often fairly quiet & tranquil, we are surrounded by neighbors. ***Noise is to be expected.*** The Lofthouse is situated BEHIND our main home and is located off the gravel alley. You have homes bordering our property on all sides, with a buffer of tall trees that conceal the main floor of The Lofthouse. You are set back from the main arterial street, so road noise is minimal in comparison to homes that are right on 10th. Sometimes during the day, you may hear typical neighborhood sounds like: Distant street noise from cars or buses passing by out front of our main home, garbage pick up on Tuesdays, people traveling down the alley, neighbors talking, occasional dogs barking, a gaggle of street mopeds that blaze by our home maybe 1x/month... (it's kinda fascinating if you look out your window), landscaping crew sounds, & people maintaining their old craftsman home exteriors. We have very respectful neighbors that IF they make noise, it usually is between normal city noise ordinance hours. The occasional home project construction noise and yard maintenance sounds are not something we can control. With all that said, we don't consider any of these sounds disruptive to every day living, including the ability to relax and enjoy our tranquil space. 💡 PRIVACY: We have a shed located on the deck that will sometimes need to be accessed by your hosts. We will do our best to announce when we will need to walk up on your deck to enter the shed or replace deck furniture cushions when the weather is nice out for your cozy lounging needs. Please note there are no shades on windows in the kitchen or on the skylight. We have ONE CAMERA LOCATED OUTSIDE at the alley entrance for your safety. There are no other cameras located in or on the property. The camera is connected to a WIFI router located inside the Lofthouse on the North East corner of the kitchen. Please do not unplug this device. 🧯SAFETY: Please lock your car and leave nothing valuable or visible in it. Please be aware of your surroundings if walking alone or out late at night. We live in a safe neighborhood, yet we still do live "in the city", so please be aware of your surroundings and protect your personal belongings by keeping them out of sight. For the safety of all our guests, we have two fire/carbon monoxide alarms located on both floors. A Fire Extinguisher is located under the kitchen sink AND a Fire BLANKET in the drawer under the stove in the case of grease fire. 📌 OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES: - NO SMOKING (anything) anywhere on the property please. If CO2/fire alarms are triggered, we are REQUIRED to have all occupants vacate the building to ensure your safety until the space is cleared by local fire fighters. Don't risk the disruption to your tranquil stay by unnecessarily triggering the fire alarms. TY - We occupy the main home on this property next to The Lofthouse, so you may hear us when we are home/outdoors, including our energetic pups… occasional barks from our or our neighbor’s dog may occur, and we apologize in advance. - During the warmer months (spring/summer) we provide a portable in window AC unit. During the rest of the year, we remove it to save you space. - Radiant heat is provided on both floors and through a ceiling heater in the bathroom. - Water heater is standard 50 gallon size, shorter showers are recommended. If you fill the deep soaking tub, hot showers after you soak may be briefly delayed as the hot water replenishes... - Our Pond may be covered at times during your stay. This is to protect our beloved fish from natures predators. Our waterfall/river feature is always running. 💜 OUR INCLUSIVITY PRACTICE: We’re committed to welcoming EVERY guest - of any race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age - with respect and without judgement or bias.
