Sitting pretty above the Caribbean Sea on the Malecon in the heart of the lively village of Esperanza, Puertas at El Quenepo's refined, classic spirit reflects its surroundings. Design details include Caribbean artwork, antique furniture from Puerto Rico and the American South and soft, natural elements to create a sense of timeless design. The atmosphere is intimate and fun, inviting you to explore the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico where the Caribbean sun flows into Bioluminescent nights. The space Puertas has six guestrooms and the excellent restaurant, El Quenepo. A large communal porch (with access to hotel guests only) is filled with plants and comfortable seating and dining tables that overlooks the Caribbean Sea and the lively Malecón. Puertas is within walking distance of many restaurants, several bars, shopping, water sports activities and of course the most important of all, the meeting points for the Bioluminescent Bay Tours. Your room, Chirimoya, is located on the second floor. Each room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, in room coffee service, hair dryer, toiletries, iron, ironing board and very comfortable beds. Included with each room are beach towels, a cooler and beach chairs. Your room has access to the shared common terrace overlooking the Malecón (Boardwalk) and the Caribbean Sea. We deliver your breakfast basket to your door each morning. Inside you will find a nutritious, filling breakfast that changes from day to day. When you book with us you will receive a guide to assist you with planning your trip and all of the wonderful options that Vieques has to offer. Our "Isla Nena" (as she is affectionately known) has a surprising amount of activities to offer and countless moments to do absolutely nothing but relax. Please note on weekend nights and holidays there is lots of loud music as you are located in the heart of the Malecón (boardwalk). This is where the island visitors and locals come to have fun. There is the potential for noise that we, Puertas, are unable to control. With this notice, if you decide to cancel during your visit, you will not be refunded. If you prefer silence when you are sleeping please book our Lovely Casita Granada in Pilon also available on AirBnb. Other things to note We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance for all travel and particularly for a vacation as no refunds will be given outside of our regular cancellation guidelines. If you choose to travel to Vieques via the ferry we will be unable to provide partial or full refunds due to service interruptions. We DO NOT recommend the ferry. It is extremely unreliable. Save your valuable vacation time by flying to Vieques.
