Description
Freshly-rehabbed, clean and charming historic home near the quiet side of Cherokee Street, St. Louis' hippest and most diverse neighborhood. A minute's walk from Mudhouse (excellent breakfast and coffee), antique stores, restaurants, bars, and the lovely Victorian-era Benton Park. Conveniently located a few minutes from the highway - get everywhere in St. Louis region quickly. Enjoy my eclectic library of fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels, and my TV has Roku with Netflix and Hulu! The space The home of a working artist: tidy, but with lots of art on the walls, and loads of interesting books and graphic novels. This was a historic rehab, certified by the state of Missouri, which means the house retains the original floor plan, trim details, and general feeling of the 1800s, but with a modern IKEA kitchen and brand-new windows and floors. I did most of the work myself, so the house is a personal work of art as well! The location is spectacular, right off Cherokee street, the current cultural heart of St. Louis, on the east side of Jefferson: quiet & safe, but just a few blocks from night life and street culture. It's also a couple of minutes from the intersection of highways 55 & 44, which gets you to nearly everywhere in town in 15-20 minutes. Guest access The first floor is a bright eat-in kitchen and cozy living room/library with a television and Roku. The second floor is two clean bedrooms and a spacious white marble bathroom. One of the bedrooms had an open area that's nice for yoga or other stretching out. The basement is off limits at the moment because of ongoing renovation, but if you really need the washer and dryer please communicate with the host and we will arrange access! A cozy 1st floor back porch was completed January 2019, and there's a small 2nd-floor side porch to enjoy a drink in the evening.
