The home is equipped with strong wifi for video calls and two desks for preparing opening arguments at the Supreme Court, or be the fourth guests testifying before Congress! (3 and counting!) I purchased the home in Jan 2019, so I do want to let guests know older homes are full of quirks and I am still learning them, as are my neighbors who have lived in these homes for 30 plus years. I finally know what all the light switches do! Great patio lights now that you can turn on from inside by switch and remote to take upstairs to turn them off. April 2023: Brand new Trane HVAC (furnace and AC upgraded) with smart vents to keep top floors cool in the summer and first level cozy in the winter! This is a MUST for ultimate comfort in any DC multilevel homes. Also Dyson Hot/Cool space heater for air filtration and finding the perfect temp for your room. Feb 2022: 3 Brand New Toilets!!! Yes...for you, you'll rent an old house without ghost toilets.... a rare find on the Hill. These are Toto and have plenty of flush capacity! (I also dont skimp on TP, its 2-ply Charmin extra soft). March 2022: Added a rain shower to primary bathroom. Home now has 2 full showers with 2 tubs! Great for adult groups! Wifi is very strong, my home has 2 eeros that have their own direct line into the home, so there are no dead spots! If you need a boost, I can call and upgrade the speed in advance of your stay. I subscribe to a local provider that has great customer service, so any glitch can be remedied or be explained by experts on the line. I will happily call for you. If anything about the stay doesn't exceed your expectations, I will work with you to determine a fair solution. Rental income is used to maintain the home and do the right things for the historic integrity of the 200 year old building materials. Guest access It is a 3 story row home. You get to enjoy the whole thing. No basement or attic tenants (that I am aware of...teasing). I have a keypad entry that you can request I customize to a 7 digit code of your choosing. There is also alley access to a brick alley that is a sneaky way to the liquor store or the bar! Other things to note Furnishings are a combination of mid century modern antiques and new designs by Vanguard and Room and Board Furniture. If you fall in love with any of the modern furniture, feel free to ask or make an offer, I have a friend that can deliver. I am from North Carolina and have friends in the furniture industry. The sofa, chairs, tables are all designed by a friend of mine. Antique beds, antique wooden dressers, secretary, buffet, and brand new sofa and all American made by craftsmen in NC. There are 27 stairs in the home. 13 and 14 respectively to each floor. They are narrow and short malnourished men of the 19th Century clearly built them. If you are traveling with an elder parent or disaster-prone toddler, lets chat. I have worked with a handful of guests who appreciated a video tour after booking.
