The Point House is a minimalist cottage built consciously amongst an abundance of nature. It is the co-existence of modernism mingling respectfully within nature's ancient bounty. Designed by one of Canada's premier architects; Brian Mackay-Lyons, Point House can be found in the town of Upper Kingsburg, wedged between the world famous Shobac Farm and the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Relax and relish the exclusivity of one of Canada's most beautiful locations. The space Point House is a place where time seems to slow down. Enjoy a hot tub under the stars after a Gaff point hike, an easy walk on Hirtle's soft sand, an evening in Lunenburg for some fine local fare; or cozy up indoors by the wood burning stove after enjoying a sunset swim. The main house is incredible with its vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. Natural light penetrate the open concept feel. In-floor radiant heating warms your feet and creates a sense of cozy. Use the high end appliance kitchen which is perfect to prepare feasts for your loved one or yourself. A cozy loft bedroom above the main floor has ample storage and an ensuite bathroom and soaker tub for the perfect compliment to a comfortable stay. The lakeside bunkie is a chill space with a fireplace on the main floor and two metal doors that swing open to expose the activity of the surging salt water pond that breathes in and out with the tides. Two single beds upstairs await guests for a memorable rest. Please note that the bunkie is not availaible during our shoulder seasons of April-June and September - December unless otherwise discussed. The property can therefore only comfortably accomodate a total of two guests in the main cottage in the king size bed. Be prepared to be blown away by the architecture, location and the overall experience. It's the perfect romantic getaway.
