Cannery cabin is a perfect blend of rustic nostalgia with surprising special touches for your comfort and enjoyment. We incorporated reclaimed wood and details from a 1914 salmon cannery in Kenai sharing our rich history. Spend your days adventuring in this magical land. Relax in our sauna or hot tub then settle near a beach fire while enjoying a sunset over Kachemak Bay with views including the majestic Alaska Range. Fall asleep to the sound of the surf and wake to a sunrise over Kasitsna Bay! The space When one beach just isn't enough! This beautiful 12X16 cabin is nestled in trees and surrounded by beaches. The cabin sleeps up to 3 with 1 full and 1-day bed. WE are like a lodge but without lodge prices! Cannery Cabin faces Kachemak Bay which not only provides ocean and mountain views, but is a fantastic wildlife watching spot with sea otters swimming by, eagles, whales and an abundance of sea birds. The cabin is well equipped to make your stay with us comfortable including bed linens, towels, spa towels, paper towels, and toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap. The kitchenette includes a sink with hot water, fridge, toaster, 2 burner propane cook stove, pots, pans, dishes and utensils, coffee maker, electric kettle, basic spices and cooking oil. Potable water is provided in your blue jug. There is an indoor flush toilet with a private outdoor hot shower with attached to the side of the cabin with majestic views of Kachemak Bay through the port hole which has been decorated with handmade ceramics which resemble a kelp forest - inspired by the surroundings, Kristi's artwork features throughout the property. The cabin has an electric heater, a heated mattress pad and dine alfresco with your private propane BBQ & utensils, plus 2 private seating areas--one on each beach! While staying with us at Between Beaches you have unlimited use of our kayaks, stand up paddle boards, row boats, wood fired sauna, hot tub, fishing float & rods, fire wood, life jackets & spray skirts throughout your stay. As we experience large tidal ranges, there are fantastic tide pooling opportunities at minus tides where you can explore the rock pools and sand bar for pacific octopus, sea anemones, sea stars and other marine life! Wi-fi is available at our on site gallery which is always open and does not reach the cabins, although cell service is generally very good. Remember to bring your groceries, we have no food service at Between Beaches and we are a taxi ride away from Seldovia. Guest access Enjoy your morning coffee at your exclusive seating area on the sunrise beach facing Kasitsna Bay where Bald eagles soar across the bay - for the evening switch sides to the sunset beach which faces Kachemak Bay and enjoy the majestic views of the Alaska Range from your beach fire! Our location is what sets us apart from other cabins and lodges. In addition to your two private seating areas we have communal spots for you to enjoy including a large deck with a seating area, an on site gallery with wifi, a wood fired sauna, hot tub (you can reserve private time slots on our sign up sheet) and at low tide enjoy exploring the spit by walking up to Nubble Point. Let the Adventure Begin!! Between Beaches Alaska Lodging is located just a short thirteen miles Southwest of Homer (by water, across Kachemak Bay from Homer) and eight miles Northeast of historic Seldovia, Alaska (by road). It can be reached by scenic water taxi from the Homer Boat Harbor, or by air taxi. If air taxi is your choice, your destination will be Seldovia, Alaska departing either from Anchorage or Homer. Guests arriving in Seldovia by Air Charter will be transported by our friendly staff from the Seldovia Airport and delivered to their accommodations. Guests arriving by water taxi will be delivered to MacDonald Spit Beach at or near Between Beaches depending on the tide where we can pick you up. Please be sure to share with us your arrival details (either water taxi or air taxi) as soon as you have it confirmed so we know when to expect you and where to pick you up. Other things to note We are pet friendly but there is a $100 dog fee per dog per stay. We ask that your dog is on a leash and that you clean up after them. Please keep dogs off of the beds ; ). Our cabins are smoke-free. Guests who smoke in our cabins will be charged a $1,500 cleaning fee. Don't forget your swimsuits for the hot tub and sauna! Knee-high rubber boots recommended for kayaking, row boats, & tide-pooling.
