Lake Front Suite - right on the lake

Guest Suite is a luxurious rental in one wing of our villa. Private entries, two orthopedic queen beds, quality linens, seating area, day bed/reading area, full outdoor kitchen, big patios and bathroom. Wi-fi included. Our space is appropriate for adults or families with teens. Not appropriate for younger families as the space is small and shared by other guests. Property is boat access only. It is NOT POSSIBLE to drive to our property, and we HIGHLY recommend secure parking areas in Pana. The space Our Guest Suite is the most luxurious of all our rentals, and is situated in one wing of our large private villa.  Our home is a variation on the colonial style with large wrap-around covered patios connecting the individual rooms, but with each having its own entrances and seating areas.  If you want all the comforts of a luxury hotel with the added benefit of a full kitchen, this would be perfect for you.   One room studio includes 400 sq. ft. of luxury space.  Two orthopedic queen sized beds, quality linens, seating area, day bed/reading area, kitchen, and bathroom.  Large covered patio on two sides adds an additional 400 sq. ft of outdoor area. Lakefront property includes unlimited wi-fi internet. Extra fee for laundry, jacuzzi, and kayak/paddle board rentals. Property is boat access only. It is NOT POSSIBLE to drive to our property, and we HIGHLY recommend secure parking areas in Pana. The property also has a bamboo cabana that is available for all of our guests to share. It is 600 square foot, with a thatched roof and wooden floor, and has hammocks and comfy chairs. It is the perfect place for watching the lake, sunrise and sunsets, yoga, relaxation, and happy hours. Massage and facials are available at our Day Spa nearby. The property has 50 meters of lakefront, with the best swim beach in the area. Private dock, kayaks, and lakeshore recreation area are yours to enjoy. This property is only accessible by boat, so the quiet tranquility, nature, and privacy are unparallel to none. While there is no road access, lanchas (water taxis) run every 30 minutes and stop just next door. Several excellent restaurants are within walking distance. During your stay We are available to offer travel advise and arrange tours and excursions in the area. We offer on-site massage. Our staff is available to assist with groceries, cooking and cleaning. Privacy is respected at all times. Unimproved dirt road leading to Santa Cruz is available but only recommended for high clearance vehicles and those with a rugged disposition. No secure parking is available in Santa Cruz, so you vehicle will be vunerable. I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: I sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob I use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination I clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay I comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines Other things to note Arrival information:  You will need to do your grocery shopping in Panajachel before you come to Santa Cruz.  There are no grocery stores or markets here, and no place to purchase adult beverages so be sure to buy everything before you come.  We provide the first 5 gallons of  purified water, toilet paper, and basic kitchen stuff (salt, pepper, sugar) and you can buy a few extras from us if we have it on hand.   Shop at Sandra's Grocery in Panajachel for meats, cheeses, lunch meats, bread, and other stuff.  Shop at the Pana. market / mercado for fruits and veggies. Santa Cruz has a small market and some items are available locally. Boat Transfers:  Once you arrive in Panajachel, you will need to decide on boat transfer from Pana to Santa Cruz.  You can take the public boats, which depart every 30 minutes, and will cost 10 - 15 Q per person.  If you can communicate with the captain in advance that you are going to our property, he may let you off at our dock or at Isla Verde Hotel, which is next door.  I recommend paying a little extra if needed for the captain to let you off at our dock or at Isla Verde.  If you get off at the public dock, the house is a 8 minute walk along the lake shore to the west or to you left as you face away from the lake.  Or you can hire a private boat for 125Q in total.  I recommend this for your first time over since you will have luggage and groceries, and more importantly the private boat will take you directly to our boat dock at the entrance to our property.  It is worth the extra Q for the convenience.  Our personal favorite boat captains are Ramos 5351.1638 or Andreas 5210.3056.  You can call them in advance and have them meet you at the private dock area in Panajachel.  This is also more convenient for unloading your luggage, etc. Travelers tip:  One of the challenges for visitors to Guatemala is the lack of small bills.  An ATM machine will give you 100 Q notes ($13).  For tipping, the small notes are best.  If you can visit a bank on your first day, and change 500 Q into 5's, 10's, and 20's, this should give you plenty of tip money.
