Our Mt Laurel Cabin is nestled among the Mountain Laurel in the woods near the top of the hill. It's a magical setting where you are surrounded by Mt. Laurel branches which line the walls and arch over your bed! Included with this cabin is the unique and spaciuous Rustic Kitchen for all of your cooking and indoor dining needs. Please note that Sticks and Stones Farm is a drug and alcohol free property and we request that all of our guests respect and adhere to our policy. Thank you! ABOUT THE CABIN: Our rustic Mountain Laurel Cabin is a favorite among guests. Voted Most Romantic, the cabin is nestled down in a glen providing plenty of privacy and all the green you can gather in! You will most certainly feel like you’re in a little love nest the way that the Mountain Laurel branches provide interesting structure along the inside walls of the cabin. THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY IN THIS CABIN. This is a single screened in room with a double bed, wicker bench, table, battery powered string lights and drinking water. This cabin is the most magnificent in the morning when the first rays of sun stream in through the dense foliage. This cabin is located behind the Rustic Kitchen which is for the exclusive use of this cabin. The Rustic Kitchen is a large space with all of the basics for cooking as well as an indoor picnic table for indoor dining should that be preferred. PLEASE NOTE -The bathroom is not located in the cabin. Both the bathroom and showers are a few minute walk away and are located separately. -There is a private fire pit located just above the cabin at the Rustic Kitchen. The kitchen includes cookware, plates, french press, utensils, a stove, grill, coolers with ice, olive oil, salt/pepper, drinking water and a sink with running water (not potable)! Lighting is limited and we always encourage people to bring their own additional lighting. All cabins have their own fire pit which is noted in their individual descriptions. Fires are not allowed to be made in non-designated places! Please Note per Connecticut state law - firewood cannot be brought in from out of the state.  We restock ice and other goods daily and thus try to make ourselves as available and accommodating to changing needs as possible - we have some individuals living on the property who can be available in case of emergency. 60 acres of woods, trails, river, ponds, unique structures, 54' moss and stone Chartre Labyrinth and a zig zag path on Moss Mountain. Please be advised that while we have two ponds during times of drought the water level may be too low to allow for swimming. Guests can be secluded as they want tucked away in their cabin, or can come on out and be social and join in with farm and retreat activities. Though there is lots to do in the surrounding towns of Newtown, Monroe, Easton and Fairfield but most guests prefer to kick back, stay put and enjoy the quiet energy of the farm setting. Metro North trains run to Westport from Grand Central and one can rent a car in Westport near the train station (less expensive and more availability then in NYC) or you can take a train to Bridgeport and either Uber or Lyft for the 30 minute ride. Are you a seasoned biker? You can bring your bike on Off Peak trains and bike to the farm! We suggest the ride from Westport as it's very scenic on back roads. TO BRING: ~Good walking shoes ~Flashlight or headlamp each. ~Layered clothes for warmth... one never knows! ~Bug repellant if you use it. ~Bring own towel/washcloth/toiletries ~We have oil vinegar, S&P and cookware and dinner ware. ON DOGS: Guide dogs only We have two very friendly cats.
