Description

Panoramic views of Nelson! Large, ground-level studio with private patio & fire pit in a custom-built executive Kootenay home. Cool in the summer, cozy in the winter with an electric fireplace. Located in the Gyro area, a 15-20 minute walk to Baker St, the suite boasts a new queen bed, large windows, private in-unit laundry, and a fully stocked kitchen. Enjoy a coffee or evening fire on the patio, high-speed wifi , 32" TV, 4K Chromecast, plenty of free street parking, & equipment storage! The space This suite is modern, bright, and 100% self-contained with bathroom and a fully-stocked kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, non-stick pots and pans, and everything else you need to enjoy a meal with friends. There's a brand new queen-sized bed, a comfortable sectional couch that converts to a double bed, and cozy electric-fireplace to supplement the forced air heating in the winter (for those who like it extra cozy). The suite remains cool all summer long due to the back half being in-ground. It is best for a couple, but can accommodate up to 3 people provided the third is a child or adult that doesn't mind sleeping on the convertible sofa bed. If you're in Nelson to ski, ride, or otherwise play, ask us about gear storage! You will be walking distance (~15 min) to the downtown core (e.g., Baker street) for shopping and dining out. It's the same distance to Lakeside Park, which boasts sandy beaches, volleyball net, concession stand, washrooms, boat launch, playground, grassy fields, paddle boat rentals and more! Note however that because Nelson is built up the side of a mountain, we are a hilly town and you will be walking up hill back to the suite. We are only 25 mins drive to Whitewater ski hill and 40 mins to Ainsworth Hotsprings. It's also super close to the Rail Trail that's popular for hiking and biking. Guest access The front door opens by keycode. Once inside the landing, you'll open the suite door using a normal key. While the landing connects to the main house via a stairway and locked door, the landing is generally yours and you won't see us (because we use the other entrance around the back. The suite has a queen bed, bathroom, full kitchen, table and chairs, board games, etc. It also has a private apartment-sized washer and dryer. The large columns outside the front entrance double as outdoor, undercover, private bike storage. Lock your bike to the columns, which are not visible from the street. Other things to note We live upstairs with our school-aged children, so you will likely hear some noise from time to time (e.g., footsteps, chitter chatter), but we try our best to be respectful of those below us. That said, if you are sensitive to noise or plan to be in the suite for a large portion of your stay, we may not be the best fit for you! We have some baby and child items to lend out if you're traveling with a little one (travel crib, toys, books, high chair, and more. Just ask!
