Description
You have found our very special place!!! This is a little slice of Heaven… Your cabin has high bluff waterfront amazing views, overlooking the Salish Sea… It literally overlooks Freshwater Bay, Vancouver Island, & San Juan Islands, & Victoria BC. (Walking access is only 2 mi away). We are nestled in the middle of the gateway to Olympic National Park, and everything this area has to offer. We are only 10 miles from Port Angeles. And, we know you will enjoy and love your stay, "By the Sea". The space Our lovely tiny cabin, (280 sq ft & loft, with outside front porch), is in the country where it is beautifully secluded and quiet. We are only a 15 minute drive to Olympic National Park. Your cozy cabin has a luxurious Queen size bed on the main floor and an additional queen bed on the floor of the open loft. Both beds are complete with comfortable luxury cozy velvet loft sheets, and lots of extra warm blankets. (The loft ceiling is fairly close to the mattress- a bit tight for adults. Just want to give you a “heads up”.) We do have satellite WiFi, with great internet connection. U.S. cellular phone services will occasionally roam to Canada, please check your cellular service and settings. There is an electric fireplace and wall heater inside that heat the cabin adequately. Leading up to the loft is a pull out ladder for access to the top. There is NOT a safety gate at the top of the ladder. Because of this, and the fact that we are on a high bluff waterfront area, please be mindful to watch your children. It is NOT advised to allow your children to be unattended inside or outside. Our kitchen is equipped with everything you will need. We have a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, an instant hot water pot, hot air cooker, toaster, blender, drip coffee maker, French press for coffee, grilling utensils, pans, and most utensils you will need. There is also a propane BBQ grill - we provide the propane, & instructions for it’s use. (It has a gas burner on the side for your cooking). It is outside under the covered patio. Since we are a 15 minute drive from Port Angeles, it is a good idea to stock up on your groceries prior to your arrival. We are on a septic system, NOTHING but toilet paper is allowed to be flushed down the toilet. (ALL tampons, personal hygiene wipes (even the ones that say on the package that they are flushable), urinary and menstrual pads, condoms, and all baby diapering supplies need to be disposed of in the provided waste can in the bathroom.) The cabin only has a 10 gallon hot water tank, this means shorter hot showers. NO smoking or vaping of ANY type of products are allowed. Also, because the entire interior of the cabin is tongue and groove dried cedar, ABSOLUTELY NO flames of any type are allowed in the cabin, (this includes open flame candles, flame lanterns, burning incense, burning sage, or any other combustible items that burns or smolders.) Approved service animals are allowed by law. But, please note that the cabin is small, we are on a high bluff, and we own a large friendly dog. Our cabin is too small to accommodate a walker, wheelchair, or a bath bench in the shower. Guest access Upon your arrival, the cabin will be unlocked. Cabin keypad lock code, and general cabin information is provided for you inside the cabin. Outside of the cabin, is your front porch, as well as your own covered BBQ patio area to relax, cook dinner, and enjoy a cocktail or your favorite glass of wine. There is ample parking next to the cabin. We have an upper observation deck, overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. You can enjoy sitting, watching the sea life and water waves, or catch a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Next to this is a large campfire area where you can enjoy evening campfires, marshmallow roasting, and relaxing. (We provide all needed firewood, s'more fixings, and we light the campfire for you. Campfires do need to be lit prior to 8pm). If there are any additional needs or questions that you might have, please let us know. Other things to note This is the gateway to Olympic National Park. A short 20 minute drive from here to the west, our very favorite, is breathtaking Lake Crescent. Going to east, will take you to back to Port Angeles. From there you can head south, and in another 1/2 hr, arrive at Hurricane Ridge. The panoramic Olympic mountain views and Salish Sea views from here are literally breathtaking and truly amazing! From the cabin, we are also a very short drive from Freshwater Bay and Salt Creek/Tongue Point County Parks. They offer great opportunities for walking, photography, beach combing, exploring tide pools, or launching your kayaks. You can also launch your boat at the Freshwater Bay boat launch 2 miles away. This area is a great spot for salmon and halibut fishing. The Olympic Discovery Trail Adventure Route is less than 5 miles from here. This 25 mile trail is great for mountain biking, and hiking. Use our cabin as your base camp from which you can explore this wonderful area. We want you to relax and truly enjoy your stay. Please be respectful of our property, and do not take any items from the cabin, except area brochures, when you leave. (These items are valued personal property of ours that we are willing to share with you during your stay). When you leave your stay with us, we expect you to clean up after yourselves, and leave the cabin in the pristine condition you found it in.
