The Nest offers a spacious basement apartment newly renovated with bright white walls and new flooring. It features a large open space consisting of a living room, dining area, office area. One bedroom with a queen bed, an extra queen bed is in a cove off of the livingroom, plus a futon. The bathroom has an oversized shower, toilet and sink and is very spacious. Guests can prepare basic meals in the kitchenette with a full fridge, sink, microwave and coffeemaker. Free Wi-Fi is included. The space A unique decor created almost entirely of upcycled and recycled materials. Welcome to DaddyRoy’s Bed & Vintage, our small family-run guest house. The home was built in the 1950’s by Ahgie (Lyga) Johnson. Ahgie’s father was Roy M. Lyga, the long-time proprietor of Lyga’s Store which operated on Main (officially Washington Street). In 1908 Roy began his mercantile career as a clerk in his father’s store. With silver hair but gold in his heart, all his grand-children called him “Daddy Roy”. DaddyRoy’s is located at the entryway to Independence on Highway 93 / 121, a few minutes away from the beautifully restored St. Peter & Paul Church. In entering The Nest @ Daddy Roy's you will be coming through the bright and cheery breezeway, with orange doors and 70’s floral print on the main floor. This is the common area for the main unit and The Nest. It can also serve as an informal sitting room. The entrance area host an outdoor patio table and four cushioned chairs set under an awning for perfect shade when dining or entertaining guests. The back yard has a large oversized deck, hammock and other lawn furniture is in the garage, and is made available to longer term renters upon request. From the Breezeway you will enter the stairwell going to The Nest basement apartment. The area is open with a bedroom in the back. The bathroom has a large shower, the kitchen has a full size fridge and freezer, sink, coffee maker, microwave. There is no oven or cooktop. The dining room area is off the livingroom and is a large table seating 8 people. A washer and dryer are in the Nest Wireless internet is available throughout the unit. Nest Rooms We have a guest bedrooms (with a queen bed), another queen bed in an alcove off the livingroom and a futon in the livingroom. The unit sleeps 5 in total. Our Pricing: • Base price for 2 guests is $75 per night. • Additional guest are charged at $18 per guest per night. There are windows in The Nest especially along with an egress exit window. Discounts for weekly & monthly renters are available.
